I'm been trying to carry out a stage 1 tune on my phase 2. I've done as darrens videos say, I take the bung out, rocking the car and no matter how long I do it for the screw won't appear. Can someone help me please in located in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire,

The car has the t2 turbo,n

I hope so, also is it easier to rock the car so you hear the engine turning, or jack the car up and turn d/s/f wheel?

I found it easy enough just rocking/ rolling the car backward while left in 5th gear, just keep going till you see it!, also don't do what I did the first time and dropped the bung down into the engine and couldn't get it back. Rookie error!

I just used to put the car in 5th and roll it back slowly using the interior mirror to find the key

RE: stage 1 tune help - Bengley - 05-12-2012

when I had a lucas, I failed at tuning it.

First I couldn't get the screw to appear, eventually the 5th gear gave way and the car rolled across the road, downhill and onto the green opposite my house. Luckily I chased it and jumped in and applied the brakes, otherwise that would have been an expensive mess.

Secondly, I dropped the cap in the engine bay, had to get another one.

Thirdly, upon removing the cap I chipped the pump housing, so the pump leaked.

I gave in and got a bosch fitted after that.

On my lucas the screw was f*cked. But as everyone has said mirror and torch are the way to do it Big Grin
