Halfords Trade - THE_Liam - 04-12-2012

Anyone know what kind of discount you get on service parts? Got a spare day tomorrow so think I should finally service the DT after its 500 mile weekend, and can't be arsed waiting for parts to turn up...

RE: Halfords Trade - karl1989 - 04-12-2012

you wana sell me a grill Smile

RE: Halfords Trade - samass - 04-12-2012

can save up to 20 quid on a full service i think... unless my memory is totally terrible from when i did it last

RE: Halfords Trade - THE_Liam - 04-12-2012

Hmm, not bad. I'm not that bothered for quality in a lot of ways, it's a £400 diesel on 95k...

What, off the beigemobile? Yeah but it's a phase 1...

RE: Halfords Trade - Oil-burner - 04-12-2012

Would it be cheaper at ECP with the club discount?

RE: Halfords Trade - THE_Liam - 04-12-2012

That's what I'm thinking but I want the parts tomorrow Smile

RE: Halfords Trade - samass - 04-12-2012

If you want RadWeld I know it's like 98p on trade ThumbsUp

RE: Halfords Trade - Oil-burner - 04-12-2012

You can order online and collect in store. If you order it tonight it'll be ready in the morning

RE: Halfords Trade - THE_Liam - 04-12-2012

Can you still use the discount? And Sam, I have Radweld already in case I'm REALLY desperate...

Exhaust putty is also around 98p...

RE: Halfords Trade - Dum-Dum - 04-12-2012

The halfords discount is great, think i saved about £40 off a service kit and glow plugs.

You wont get bosch duraterms cheaper anywhere than you will on halfords trade, iirc its £12 a pair so £24 for 4

I think it was £5-7 of 5l of oil and the same off 5l of coolant Oil filter goes down to about £2, fuel filter is about £3

RE: Halfords Trade - Anton - 04-12-2012

Need a trade card!

RE: Halfords Trade - Oil-burner - 04-12-2012

Out of interest how are people getting trade cards?

RE: Halfords Trade - Dum-Dum - 04-12-2012

On the old system. Im down as a "high volume parts buyer" had to take in 3 months worth of factor receipts to prove it.

RE: Halfords Trade - zx_volcane - 04-12-2012

Some bits are cheap, but usually only own brand stuff.

No discount on car care (ie polish and stuff), audio, bike parts ..etc

Fuel filters are around £4 a pop VS about £3 from ecp with discount. reckon ecp would may carry better quality filters too.

Re: Halfords Trade - Dan! - 04-12-2012

I work in a garage so just took in a few months worth of payslips and that was fine. I think mechanic qualifications from college are adequate aswel...

no ph2

RE: Halfords Trade - Ben - 04-12-2012

I got mine because I'm an engineer for a company and I just showed them an engineering qualification. My companies never mentioned it so I'm guessing they dont find out as I've had it a couple of years Smile

RE: Halfords Trade - samass - 04-12-2012

got mine cuz i'm studying auto engineering at uni. showed them my id and course letter, job done. even got trade in there before with just my id card when i forgot my trade card

RE: Halfords Trade - THE_Liam - 04-12-2012

I found mine lol

Think I'll just go in and ask, at least I can get the parts there and then instead of waiting 3 days for ECP to send me the wrong f*cking parts and then blame me...

RE: Halfords Trade - Niall - 04-12-2012

Got mine because i gave the manager a blowie

nah i just asked for one. Admittedly i used to work there but they still didnt have to give me one!

RE: Halfords Trade - swampy - 04-12-2012

Forgot I had one of these inmy wallet

Need some anti freeze for the Alfa

Got to change the thermostat!!

Now that's a job and the part alone cost £85 retail though I got it thru work trade for £60

RE: Halfords Trade - Toms306 - 04-12-2012

Got mine cos I bought a 306 off the manager of halfords. Also have another one from a guy on pugnet lol. And yeah you do save quite a bit on service parts. It works out roughly the same as Ecp after 25% discount though last time I compared them.

RE: Halfords Trade - THE_Liam - 05-12-2012
