Left fan not working - Bengley - 26-11-2012

Had the whole front end off today, replaced the fan motor on the left fan, swapped the green relays over, black relay looks fine...

Left fan still doesn't spin.

A bit miffed tbh.

how are you testing?

RE: Left fan not working - Bengley - 26-11-2012

Got a switch wired up to the fan plug near the fuel filter, flick the switch and the right fan comes on.

Don't have a switch wired up and neither of them come on regardless of engine temp.

I'm not sure on the solution but I have a set of fans here from a GTi, I'm not too far from you, or failing that I could bring them to the Christmas meet Smile Only want a tenner for them

ok remove the plug to the fan cowling down the left hand/passenger side of the radiator and check all the pins for corrosion. Clean them all up

Already got some, but they have an additional plug on them which seems to have to be connected for power. My car doesn't have this plug (it's blue)

Tried that when I had it apart. A couple of the contacts were corroded and I scraped them off with a screwdriver (all I had with me) and still nowt.
