Would i be right in getting them or? Confused

RE: HID's - Oil-burner - 09-11-2012

You need h7's and personally I'd go either 6000k or 8000k!

RE: HID's - 4WayDiablo - 09-11-2012

Mine are h7 4300k and are a white with a slight hint of blue my mate has 6000k and they still look white but with a tint of blue but when they're next to each other you can really tell the difference

After following my mate and coming the other way against him he said he didn't notice glare and said it was fine
But if you are worried about glare get the capped ones which are H7r's

RE: HID's - ChezHdi - 09-11-2012

not too bothered by the glare, so the ones on the link above should be spot on yeah??

RE: HID's - 4WayDiablo - 09-11-2012

I don't see why not. Make sure you specify you want H7 and whatever colour temp you want

RE: HID's - silverzx - 09-11-2012

Would be interested in some HID's for my ph1 if they were cheap enough. Are they easy to wire up?

RE: HID's - 4WayDiablo - 09-11-2012

Very easy to wire up. They're plug ans play you plug the bulb into the ballast. Then the ballast just plugs to the loom then put the bulb in the holder like usual :-)

youd get horrendous scatter on the ph1 due to the frosted lense, personally, i wouldn't bother, i reckon it'd give too wild a beam pattern

(im not against HIDs at all btw, just think on frosted lense they'd be a bit of a waste of time. IMO, of course)

exactly what i have - amazing difference! The 'R' part means the bulbs are for none projector headlights.

RE: HID's - Tom - 09-11-2012

Theres that many other bastards out there with bright f*cking lights, i just bought a set of hids because i got fed up with not being able to see when other cars are coming at me!

RE: HID's - ChezHdi - 09-11-2012

I was only going to buy the above because they were cheap, and would improve my lights, to be frank they are pretty shit atm, do they cost much to have the 'R' versions?

RE: HID's - Oil-burner - 09-11-2012

It's just different bulbs iirc!
I was tempted with the turbo revs versions, they are only £30 and I know turbo revs are a pretty reputable company (as far as eBay goes)

RE: HID's - dave1221 - 09-11-2012

i paid less than £30 delivered off ebay for mine, really nice quality and at the same price as a set of decent 'normal' bulbs, well worth it!

RE: HID's - Oil-burner - 09-11-2012

You got a link Dave?

They're not that bad tbh. Not as bad as it sounds like anyway after being around a ph1 with hids

it was ebay item 200710430155. i notice they were actually 5000k and not 4300k and on offer for £29.99 delivered then went back to £49.99.

these look similar but are 6000k so have a slightly more blue tint:

RE: HID's - ChezHdi - 09-11-2012

well I've bought them, for the sake of £20 i can't complain really..

RE: HID's - Just Sean - 09-11-2012

the h7R didnt really give much of a better beam pattern imo.. gonna get some angels and cut the R bit of

RE: HID's - Mikefish100 - 09-11-2012

I have a set of 8k hid kit for sale Wink

RE: HID's - DaveW - 09-11-2012

The H7r i had the coating has come off them!

RE: HID's - Oil-burner - 09-11-2012

Mikefish100 YHPM

HID's - ash240970 - 10-11-2012

dave1221 - have to say that VIPHID kit in the link looks a billy bargain and I've had the VIP ballasts before on my ph1 and they never let me down.

RE: HID's - Willo - 10-11-2012

Looking at this I'm quite interested in a set of these also would I see any improvement over standard on a phase 2 with standard lights also how do they fit are they an absolute bitch to fit

RE: HID's - Toms306 - 10-11-2012

Candles would be an improvement over phase 2 frosted lights....

RE: HID's - Eeyore - 10-11-2012

i have the ones linked to in the OP. obviously in H7 and i think they are 8K or 6K.

RE: HID's - Willo - 10-11-2012

The frosted lights are pretty useless tbf worse than the lights on my old mk3 golf and they were dire

RE: HID's - Niall - 10-11-2012

if he has ph2 frosted lights then H7s are useless!

RE: HID's - Tom - 12-11-2012

Just fitted mine they need there own power supply and seperate earths which i didnt know bfore hand but it makes sense really. They're heck of a bright and look really cool. I dont care if i look like a prick lol Smile
