2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Oil-burner - 08-11-2012

Right my clutch is on its way out and was wondering if a 307 Hdi 136 clutch would fit?
Or is that a stupid question?

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Ruan - 08-11-2012

I've never actually looked properly, but they're dual mass fly, so the friction plate will have no springs in and at a guess, the drive splines will be offset differently... I'm not 100% on all of that, it defo won't have springs and it also might be a different size... If you can get a Single mass conversion kit for a 136 then you should be in business, but I'm going to guess you can't...

Ahh yeah stupid question!
Never thought about the dmf, just looking round for clutchs and that popped up!

From what I've found near me I can get
Standard valeo
Standard Sachs
Standard luk
And another luk from ECP which is £30 more but gives no reason why!

Arnt you planing on going stage 2 next year? Maybe its worth looking for an uprated one??

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Oil-burner - 12-11-2012

Yeah I'm hoping so, I'd be happy with a limited torque tbh, just gonna go new valeo I think!

Why not go for the berlingo clutch? apparently rated at 280ftlbs

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

It's an up rated clutch anyway!
The 306 and berlingo standard clutch have the same part numbers, I've checked!

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Chris_90 - 13-11-2012

its an unrated clutch??

So there both the same clutch? confused!!

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

From what I can gather the one they're on about its an uprated Sachs clutch!
The standard clutches carry the same part number

Pretty sure it is just a standard sachs one not uprated, really confused with it all tbh, all on .net looks like its standard one

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

Well I asked in minorfern about the berlingo clutch and its the same part!
That is for valeo tho but really can't see that Sachs would make a special standard one for the 'lingo

What price did they quote you from there? not tryed there yet..... i just dont wana put a valeo one in and it last a year then start slipping agin

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

£108 all in to joe public but I get trade so it'll be cheaper for me!

You can't guarantee any clutch under £300 will last with a stage 2, surely you've read people's threads saying they've put a £££ clutch on and it's slipped again within 10k!

If you really don't want the risks of it going again, back off the torque!

my toque is backed off at 240ftlbs lol will just see if it beds back in, had same problem before and it sorted its self out, saying that not had any slip for last few days so might be ok now......

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

Yeah but that's not full fat stage 2 is it.
I'd say a valeo would hold that no problems!
When I spoke to midnightclub he's running full fat on a valeo and its fine, it all depends how you treat them!

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Chris_90 - 13-11-2012

i no its not full fat me and mr whippy are gradually upping the power/toque to reach a balance of holding the clutch and cutting out issues, i carnt see valeo holding full toque but if midnightclub has im sure he will prove me wrong...... like you say just depends how there treated

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

Like I said it has and is being done on valeo clutches!
I don't really tear around or do 0-60 sprints so I'm hoping I'll be ok on a valeo but if not it's nothing major really so trial and error really!

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Chris_90 - 13-11-2012

just how long they will hold that toque for, plus if your doing this work to the car to get the power then not really test/use it no point in doing it really!

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

I do use it, but I use it sensibly and don't abuse it, there's a difference!

RE: 2.0 Hdi 136 clutch?? - Chris_90 - 13-11-2012

LOL well theres only one way to test it and thats do it for your self! i may end up with the valeo one as all this berlingo crap is sending me crazy
