My new HDi... - Bailes1992 - 06-01-2012

Had a Peugeot 406 as my first car and was hanckering for another!
So with my Uncle getting a new car, I thought I'd sieze the opportunity and nab his 406 off him!

It's a Peugeot 406 HDi 90 rapier.
It's only 90bhp but if you learn to 'ride the torque' it actually picks up really well!
Did 550 miles today and averaged 48mpg with a little thrash over the heads of the valleys.

Only few niggles I can find is that the steering wheel dosen't sit centre in a straight line and theres a steering wobble when braking.
So all it needs really *touch wood* is new front brakes and steering allignment Smile

The bodyworks abit tatty (much like my Focus), but the interiors MINT apart from a rip in the drivers bolster and a missing rear ashtray.

Plan over the next few weeks...
Good service,
Get my radio in,
New front brakes,
Wheel alignment.

Longterm Plan?
I don't really know.
Maybe a remap,
Maybe abit of lowering,
Might even get the bodywork sorted.

Bailes.

I like Nimrods, but I may put winter tyres on the 15's that are on there now and get some 16's with some decent rubber on them for the summer.
If I drop it, it will be 35mm on eibachs on Bilsten B4's. That way I can keep the OEM comfort and have better handling.

You want a 2.2 Exec or a 2.2 SE then.
SE is the more 'sporty' version of the Exec.

Same as my Rapier is supposed to be the more 'Sporty' version of the GLX.
