Brown relay making noise and not starting - HDIkyle - 01-11-2012

Been away for 2 weeks so went to start car last night and battery dead as expected. Once jumpered up the brown relay makes some dreadful buzzing noise and you can feel it also when touching it. This is only while ignition is on the second click and car only turns but won't fire. Replaced today as known to fail and the new one also does the same so what's wrong?

Tried bumping it pal?

Tried disconnecting battery in case there is a fault needing a full reset of the ECU? Just a thought from a guy who has seen this happen before on various electronics.

can you hear the pump prime in the rear seats? lift the seat up and its easier to hear....if not

then your pump is the problem. Few of us had this issue all within same matter of week..spooky!!!

Lift tank works fine had a live to it but no it don't prime when the ignition is turned on while that noise is coming from that relay. I changed both when I got the car as it would not start then but that was a feed from the alternator

Got it to start up today on easystart but its not easy to spray that constantly into the intake while driving....

Have wired the pump to a live and try'd starting but still no joy. Is there anyway to get it running by bypassing the relay and runnung the liftpump off the cig lighter maybe?
