Not starting Brown relay clicky like hell - HDIkyle - 01-11-2012

Been parked up for a week and half so battery was dead as expected. Once battery was charged turns over but brown relay behind the ECU makes a scrapping clicking noise when ignition is live on 2nd position.

Replaced today and its still the same. Sprayed with WD40 all connections and no joy.

How does the plug for the brown relay look? Often get problems with these arcing/shorting out, worth a check as it could be a cheap fix.

check the earths between the battery and chassis leg, battery and gearbox and there will be some more on the gearbox bell housing bolts for the ecu

Earths look ok been checked not long back also. There are afew dark looking terminals in the plug but until I get the battery out its very hard to get to have a proper look. Have had ecu and battery off for awhile and its still the same. I will check if it does it with the lift pump unplugged as I was in the back holding the wires on when it was turned over so can't remember.

Also didn't mean for 2 posts I try'd posting on mobile and it kept getting an error so posted on Pc and it now shows both

No danny its on the drove so cant get it off. Have had the battery out and the wires all look fine. Fuses are all ok. It also does it every now and again while the ignition is off and the keys out its will make that noise for a second then stop.

If you've got dark terminals in the plug i'd be having a better look at that, no?
