Welcome. Good choice of car. Smile

Re: Newbie !! - dany4494 - 31-10-2012

Can someone explain to me about the tax on them isn't one expensive and the other cheaper how's that work cheers

RE: Newbie !! - StarBenn - 31-10-2012

Y is cheaper dependant on year than the rest so I hear.

RE: Newbie !! - puglove - 31-10-2012

I believe it wad only the estates that fell over the new tax scheam and all the hatches were on the old tax system?

RE: Newbie !! - JackLewis_Dturbo - 31-10-2012

YEP its not a hdi if it hasnt got a blower

RE: Newbie !! - Jake - 31-10-2012

Hi & welcome, Yep y reg is the cheaper tax band and there is hatches available on Y plates as well as estates Smile

Re: Newbie !! - dany4494 - 31-10-2012

I'll be looking for a y reg then bit more to insure for some reason but I'll save on tax.

Buy an XUD DTurbo then, cheaper all round more fun and easier to get lots of power out of, im not bias or any thing Tongue

RE: Newbie !! - Jonny81191 - 31-10-2012

Welcome along, get yourself a HDi!

Re: Newbie !! - dany4494 - 31-10-2012

Xud or hdi can't decide atm, xud's are not as strong are they ?

Re: Newbie !! - WiNgNuTz - 31-10-2012

Depends what you want from it. The bigger the power you go for, the higher chance of engine failure, depending on whether you have any form of mechanical sympathy. Xud is all mechanical as well, so less electronics to go wrong than the hdi. But I'm biased Wink

Re: Newbie !! - dany4494 - 31-10-2012

I was just thinking stage one on hdi not sure what route I would go down with xud.

RE: Newbie !! - Will_306_hdi - 01-11-2012

My hdi is Yreg and its cheaper on tax than an older one
BUT the xud is mechanic as hdi has more electrics.
There is more and cheaper tuneability out of the xud.

Even though i own an hdi and i should be biased but
i would go for an xud due to tuning.

What's tax on it mate?

RE: Newbie !! - Curt - 01-11-2012

Tax is such a small part of motoring costs... I wouldn't limit what you're looking at due to that. Before Y reg they'll all be the same, £220 a year I believe? Should know I just paid mine lol

Welcome by the way Smile
