how do you bleed the fuel system on a bosched xud ??

Check the grenade (in line hand pump) these are common for letting air in the system.

And there's isn't really a way of bleeding a Bosch. Just a good battery ;-)

yeah replaced the grenade as the old one was badly perished

injector leak off pipes. rubber hose that goes from pump to injectors and last injector at gearbox end of engine should have a blanking plug on it

RE: air in fuel hard to start when cold - dec-66 - 29-10-2012

RE: air in fuel hard to start when cold - dec-66 - 06-11-2012

changed the leak off pipes and no air in the fuel line to the pump but after the car has been sat all night it just doesnt want to fire but wen it does its fine starting it for the rest of the day any ideas

RE: air in fuel hard to start when cold - Kwik - 06-11-2012

did you do the blanking cap at end and from first injector back to pump?

also check fuel priming grenade is operating properly getting hard and staying so and not letting fuel back through a dodgy one way valve or leaking

RE: air in fuel hard to start when cold - dec-66 - 06-11-2012

yeh changed the blanking cap and the one from the injector to the pump yeh changed the grenade and fuel lines as there were a bit of a lash up the grenade goes hard after like two pumps .

what is a one way valve ??

RE: air in fuel hard to start when cold - Kwik - 06-11-2012

is inside the grenade stops fuel leaking back to tank. if it's gone is the symptoms your describing as it has to pull fuel back through.

only things i an think of now is fuel filter housing check no leaks, lid is on properly and drain screw at front is done tight

RE: air in fuel hard to start when cold - dec-66 - 07-11-2012

oh i get it well the fuel filter housing was replaced a few weeks ago due to the bung on the back decided to fall out so had to bypass the filter housing straight to the pump to get me home haha

RE: air in fuel hard to start when cold - Kwik - 07-11-2012

well make sure it's all together properly. that's the only thing i can think of if you'e done leak offs

RE: air in fuel hard to start when cold - dec-66 - 07-11-2012
