Gti6 master cylinder - Niall - 03-01-2012 I will stop with all the brake related questions soon....promise! Are there any different master cylinders on the gti6? E.g is there some which are abs/non abs and are does it make a difference if I use a non abs one on my car? Cheers Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Dum-Dum - 03-01-2012 I thought all gtis had ABS Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Niall - 03-01-2012 I wasn't too sure that's why I asked. Ideally I will get one off a ph3 but if it comes off a ph1 it shouldn't make a difference should it?! Re: Gti6 master cylinder - springs - 03-01-2012 all the gti's had ABS.. Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Connor - 03-01-2012 There are only 2 types of master cylinder... well Ive only found 2 part numbers on service box Gti6 master cylinder - Matt - 03-01-2012 One for the rallye and one for a '6? Re: Gti6 master cylinder - springs - 03-01-2012 knowing peugeot they changed the design ever so slightly on the later ph3's to suit the newer range of cars coming out at the time.. Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Niall - 03-01-2012 Matt Wrote:One for the rallye and one for a '6? There the same ain't they? Wouldn't the rallye have abs If the gti does? Gti6 master cylinder - Matt - 03-01-2012 No idea, thought there might be a difference but honestly I haven't got a clue. Thought they might be different part numbers lol Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Niall - 03-01-2012 Be honest Matt, that was just a poor excuse to raise your post count and increase the size of your Epenis wasn't it? Lol Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Foxy-jim - 03-01-2012 How does the master cylinder upgrade the brakes and would a gti one fit on my 1.4? Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Connor - 03-01-2012 If you havent got GTi brakes mate, it will only make them worse Gti6 master cylinder - Matt - 03-01-2012 NiallHarper Wrote:Be honest Matt, that was just a poor excuse to raise your post count and increase the size of your Epenis wasn't it? Lol My Epenis is huge anyway ![]() ![]() Re: Gti6 master cylinder - springs - 03-01-2012 thats because you own an XSI... Gti6 master cylinder - Matt - 03-01-2012 Possibly, I still think rallyes don't have abs not sure why. Prob as they lack other things Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Niall - 03-01-2012 Just looked on service box and realised two things. Firstly, f*ck spending 109 quid on a new one. Secondly, gti ones are 23.8mm apparently. I'm sure everyone uses 21mm ones don't they?!? Oh and according to service box, they did do the gti in non abs. Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Connor - 03-01-2012 HDi Dturbos and estates (I think the estates did anyway) had the bigger mc too Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Niall - 03-01-2012 Useful to know. Will pick one up at the end of the month for my new brakes. Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Foxy-jim - 03-01-2012 So how do they improve the braking? Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Connor - 03-01-2012 They don't improve the braking, you only need one if you go for bigger brakes, personally i wasnt gonna change the mc when i put my git callipers on, just have braided lines Re: Gti6 master cylinder - Foxy-jim - 03-01-2012 Ah right, fair enough. Ye I want some braided lines soon!
