Whats your main source of fuel?

142.9 at the station?
Veg oil?
Rat piss?(i read on here, it runs on that :p)

RE: People with bosch pumps.. - 4WayDiablo - 18-10-2012

Mostly diesel occasionally veg

Tend not to veg it up in the cold konths

RE: People with bosch pumps.. - Dum-Dum - 18-10-2012

I was 90% veg and 10% oil, diesel, petrol and anything else flammable I had lying around. When it was really cold I had to start it on lighter gas straight in the inlet cos glow plugs alone weren't enough.

Dafuq? Im lost.

Anyway, whats the purpose of a bosch conversion if your still using diesel ^_^?

ive sourched a free bosch pump that i hope to fit when my cambelt is due in 2k miles..

Much more scope for tuning than a lucas pump.

Re: People with bosch pumps.. - Tyronnster - 18-10-2012

Asian super store 18.49 for 20l

People with bosch pumps.. - RePT - 18-10-2012

I was hoping my conversion ment i run on veg 24/7. I mean after all thats what im excited about.

dan! deals with all the bosch stuff, hes your best bet.

you can run veg oil 24/7!! in the colder months just add 5ltrs of petrol for every 20ltrs of veg oil roughly. should be fine starting like that.

if it struggles get out and rock the car to mix it up Tongue

That's a bit much. I think it's more like 1-2 litres of petrol to a whole tank.

If you can get sunflower oil at a low enough price it is better in the winter as it starts to freeze at a lower temperature.

RE: People with bosch pumps.. - CJ_Derv - 19-10-2012

Tesco sunflower 5L for a 5er and doesntbfreeze as quick as veg but id mix with petty for winter, and days likebtoday looks a but frosty this morning here lol

Or if you want extra performance ultimate diesel

People with bosch pumps.. - THE_Liam - 19-10-2012

Currently running pure Asda sunflower at £15 for a 15 litre carton, but cold starts are getting difficult so if I keep the car and don't swap it for that Puma it'll be new glowies and some petrol I think Smile

Only had the bosch over a really cold winter (when it was -10 and below, -30 with the wind chill) and it really needed thinning out so thats why most of it. Running a little bit of engine oil in with the fuel made it run quieter IMO.

RE: People with bosch pumps.. - 306carter - 19-10-2012

Bio-diesel is £1.05 near me bit more than veg but its from a pump so no messing with 25 1L tubs.

Heard that too, my old man runs his PD115 Bora on it and ain't no problems yet.

RE: People with bosch pumps.. - JackLewis_Dturbo - 19-10-2012

ive done thousands of miles on bio diesel on a lucas and it was fine Smile

all depends what the pumps life has been like to whether it will be ok though i guess!

RE: People with bosch pumps.. - lolsteve - 19-10-2012

Depends on the bio too, if it's good stuff then seals should be fine bad stuff has the chemical that eats them (?)

RE: People with bosch pumps.. - CJ_Derv - 19-10-2012

Tis very true i sprung a few leaks just on veg but works a treat cleaning fuel lines lol
