HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - Chris - 05-10-2012 Right picked up a hdi for cheaps yesterday as it was advertised as running but cutting out. When I got there the car wouldnt start, as I'd traveled 120 miles for it with a trailer I bought it anyway, as its worth more in parts than paid. Had a quick go over it today. There is no power to the lift pump (the pumps fine though) and the fuel gauge doesnt work. The only power at the lift pump is the small gray wire presumably for the fuel gauge power. I've powered the pump remotely and it still doesnt start. Items changed About 10 fuses replaced/put back, All other fuses checked Brown relay behind the battery. Tested the ECU off my car. Fuel cut off thing with the red top. Need to test the green relays behind the battery also, but cant see these being faulty. Anyone got any ideas? RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - Poodle - 05-10-2012 Where is it? Text me. ![]() RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - Chris - 05-10-2012 Texted Alos its a y plates so a 592 ecu RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - cully - 05-10-2012 double relay behind the battery remove it and check the plug socket and relay pins for burnt bits RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - Chris - 05-10-2012 Checked them and there fine RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - JackLewis_Dturbo - 05-10-2012 didnt realize you went and got it lol RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - C2K - 05-10-2012 Can you read the Ecu? May have been shorted. RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - Chris - 05-10-2012 Yea read the codes that were on it fine. RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - C2K - 05-10-2012 What's going down with the immobiliser? Does it crank and not catch? HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - kentiiboii - 06-10-2012 If its moonstone and had a recent clutch change... Don't bother! Haha. :p Have you tried immobiliser? But I suppose that wouldn't explain why it was cutting out. Sound defferntly fuel related. Get someone to prime it on the key and listen out for air leakage. Check injectors for fuel and power. Check filter housing pipes if they're getting fuel through as we'll when priming. RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - Poodle - 06-10-2012 Cam or crank sensors? How does the fuel pressure look? RE: HDi Not Starting/No power to lift pump - andywhy - 10-10-2012 You say the fuel gauge doesn't work, but it has got fuel, right? ![]() |
