Help! My Window Fell Out! - C.A.R. - 25-09-2012

Ok maybe the title is a bit of an over-reaction but...

Clearing the windows this morning doing the old wind-down wind-up again trick to get the dew off, drivers one did it without drama but the passenger window made a bid for freedom on the way back up!

A small grey clip at the top left corner was fired across the car park with some force.

I'm hoping that a repair is easy?

I've never had to do one on a 306 before! Are those little grey clips available separately?

RE: Help! My Window Fell Out! - CJ_Derv - 25-09-2012

sorry for hijacking has anyone had to replace cables in window gubbings?

RE: Help! My Window Fell Out! - HDIkyle - 25-09-2012

Cables are a nightnare! Far easier to replace the whole lot. I had to once and its impossible to get the cable on both ends of the runner

These are a pita to do... try lubricate the inside of the seal when putting it on

RE: Help! My Window Fell Out! - C.A.R. - 25-09-2012

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys lol.

I have some silicone grease which is ideal for doing window rubbers etc. Is there a guide on doing this annoying little job?

RE: Help! My Window Fell Out! - Niall - 25-09-2012

Clip the new bit onto the glass. Wind the window almost down to the bottom, grab the seal/runner and yank it upwards so it comes out of the door. Slide it over the new part and back down into the door then press it all home into the B pillar. Simples

RE: Help! My Window Fell Out! - C.A.R. - 25-09-2012

Door card off or on?

RE: Help! My Window Fell Out! - Danny2009 - 25-09-2012

As Niall said mate, easily done with the door card on.

RE: Help! My Window Fell Out! - Niall - 25-09-2012

Door card on. With the window down, just grab the seal on the b pillar and pull upwards and out of the grove it sits in. Easy
