Best Armrest? - C.A.R. - 19-09-2012

I've installed my OEM iPod adapter (very good, but overpriced) so I can now play my iPod through the headunit and control it from the steering-wheel stalk.

The problem is I didn't want the lead going into the glovebox. I've currently wired it into the small coin-tray behind the handbrake cable.

Obviously this is far from ideal, so I'm wondering how good those aftermarket arm-rests are?

I remember having one back in the day which I never installed, but was disappointed with the quality.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Peugeot sold one as a add on. There about £80 from Peugeot. See if your local dealer has one.

Centre opens up so you could wire in there? Also it pivots

Niall, I like the OEM stuff for quality / fitment but £80 is a bit steep I feel. Have you got a picture / link / part number?

4Way, Looks alright, how does it attach to the car though?

On the subject of armrests, anyone know if it'd be difficult to bodge the Golf one into a 306? I wont sell it if it can be done lol.

Tom you can fit anything to anything with enough time, patients and hammers

RE: Best Armrest? - C.A.R. - 19-09-2012

I dunno man, maybe try and find someone who has an almighty Golf with an armrest and have a look?

You'll struggle to find parts though. Golfs are incredible and never break down, which is why you don't get them in breakers yards. Honestly I don't know why everyone doesn't just drive a Golf.

I have a Golf on my driveway for breaking Chris...being the superior 130TDi model it came standard with an arm rest... Wink which I really missing in the avensis lol! Undecided

Dunno know to attach the one I have it had those legs on either side. But I threw them as they're so unsightly

RE: Best Armrest? - C.A.R. - 19-09-2012

It's a Connects2 CTAPGIPOD010.2

Cost £49 which is expensive, but I managed to sell my old clarion tape deck, cd-changer and loom for £38 so it didn't really cost me anything.

I just like that I don't have a gawdy aftermarket unit there and can control it all from my steering wheel. Oh and it charges too Smile
