will these fail an MOT.. - declantg - 18-09-2012 So got my mot this weekend just wanna be ready if it fails so here are bits I'm worried about. Running defilter t piece in brake vacuum for when I tried a DV low discs and pads (upgrading soon so no point replacing) lower engine mount knocking pretty badly decat RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Midnightclub - 18-09-2012 From what i can tell none of that should cause it to fail, if they fail it for a decat then you should probably go to another garage... RE: will these fail an MOT.. - declantg - 18-09-2012 That's okay then, just hoping I don't suffer the 5dr rusty arches ![]() RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Midnightclub - 18-09-2012 Rusty arch wouldn't fail anyway, only if it's structural and within 30cm diameter of a wheel IIRC RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Niall - 18-09-2012 Declan its not just 5 doors I don't think. Think it's mainly ph1s and 2s RE: will these fail an MOT.. - declantg - 18-09-2012 This is starting to make me worry less about it! Every day my dad tells me it will fail... RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Midnightclub - 18-09-2012 End of the day mate, worst case it fails, best case it passes, just chill bro ![]() RE: will these fail an MOT.. - declantg - 18-09-2012 Was hoping to pick up some seats this weekend though! Annoying as I have work 2-10 everyday now. So can't just sort bits out! RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Connor - 18-09-2012 Depends how low the pads are and what state the discs are in, could fail it on those RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Midnightclub - 18-09-2012 Ahh must've somehow missed that.. my rear pads were fairly low... only got an advisory for them though RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Connor - 18-09-2012 Like i said, depends how low, under 1.5mm is a fail RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Jake - 18-09-2012 wont fail on engine mounts or defilter as mine passed with both those =L RE: will these fail an MOT.. - 4WayDiablo - 18-09-2012 There is a limit on brake pad depth although they're not allowed to take the wheel off to check :-) must be visual RE: will these fail an MOT.. - daddyfixit - 18-09-2012 rusty wheel arches do fail mot, as jagged edges are a risk to pedestrians if you can see through the whel trim/alloy wheel ,then if pads look to be below 1.5 mm they fail. RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Mitch - 18-09-2012 should all be good if the pads are not too low and the discs are in a ok condition, think im right in saying engine mounts are not looked at in the test? and they cant fail the de filter or the de cat! ![]() RE: will these fail an MOT.. - Toms306 - 19-09-2012 Brakes will more than likely be an advisory unless they're that bad lol, also Id expect 'oil leak' which I had advised on most of my pugs lol. And headlight aim will probably be out (which is a fail if bad enough) but they should just adjust this for you anyway. |
