Fmic on standard inlet - Mart - 28-12-2011

Is it possible to have a fmic and use my standard inlet thanks in advance

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - Connor - 28-12-2011

Yeah you can, but you will need an adaptor for it so you can clamp the pipe

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - mark_airey - 28-12-2011

As Connor says, you can with an adaptor, jase19 (I think) was the guys user name that used to make them, can post you a pic of mine up if you like?

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - Mart - 28-12-2011

I like it mate thanks for that

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - mark_airey - 28-12-2011

its by no means the best flowing solution but it is easy and saves pissing around with manifolds and making a take off for the LDA compensator on the pump (which the xantia mani doesn't have) as the 306 TD one comes off the top mount which won't be there anymore Smile mine has never been a problem and its been on there a while now

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - Connor - 28-12-2011

All you need to do to a xantia mani is just drill and tap a bleed nipple like the HDi boys do on the inlet elbow

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - mark_airey - 28-12-2011

Connor Wrote:All you need to do to a xantia mani is just drill and tap a bleed nipple like the HDi boys do on the inlet elbow

I know, but its extra faffing around and i'm all for avoiding that Tongue

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - Connor - 28-12-2011

Hardly... but i cba to do it on mine to connect the boost gauge Tongue

My boost guage is joined into the boost comp hose with a tee just after the adaptor, can see it in the pics Smile

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - Connor - 28-12-2011

I know, just saying I cba to faff around with mine Tongue

Can you get a pic of where you put it as my next thread was about where to put the boost pipe hose please

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - Connor - 28-12-2011

Its what the little thing on the adaptor, next to the big hole, is for

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - mark_airey - 28-12-2011

Yeah it is connor Smile

what for a gauge you mean? put the tee in the pipe that goes from the front of the top mount to the fuel pump and then run it into the cabin, mine is drilled through behind the battery tray which comes out behind the glove box in the cabin up behind the blower motor. just make sure you seal around it with silicone afterwards to stop it moving in the hole and the metal cutting into the hose.

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - Mart - 28-12-2011

That's it mate just wanted to no how/where to put the pipe for the boost gauge

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - Mart - 28-12-2011

I can't seem to upload a photo of the pipe but is it the small one that goes onto the tmic

Re: Fmic on standard inlet - mark_airey - 28-12-2011

Mart Wrote:I can't seem to upload a photo of the pipe but is it the small one that goes onto the tmic

It's maybe 15-20mm across right in the middle at the front coming out the bottom and leading to the pump, its the only thing connected to the intercooler other than the manifold and feed from the turbo, lol, you can't go wrong.

Just cut it and install your tee piece with some jubilee clips Smile
