Snapped bonnet release cable - Connor - 20-08-2012 ... On an Astra G (I think its a g, well its a 2000 regular anyway...) basically the bonnet release cable has snapped an my missis'dads car, so im after someone who has one or has had to do this before. Need a pic of the bonnet end of the cable so i can get my arm up and under to release the catch. Thankyou in advanceto anyone that can help. And no "this isn't an astra forum" bollocks... I know what you lot are like! This is a 306 forum... In there first Ooooh that's clever RE: Snapped bonnet release cable - cwspellowe - 20-08-2012 If it was a 306 i'd say BFH to the grille and tear it open. It's an Astra though. Set fire to it? RE: Snapped bonnet release cable - samass - 20-08-2012 Stand back, it'll blow up soon enough anyway. RE: Snapped bonnet release cable - Connor - 20-08-2012 If it was a 306 i know exactly where the cable is to stick my arm under the bumper and reach up and grab it lol RE: Snapped bonnet release cable - HDIkyle - 20-08-2012 Fit bonnet catches, That what i did RE: Snapped bonnet release cable - Connor - 20-08-2012 (20-08-2012, 09:12 PM)HDIkyle Wrote: Fit bonnet catches, That what i did For that you need to bonnet open... Lol RE: Snapped bonnet release cable - Popeye_6 - 27-08-2012 smash the grille mate. the tab snapped on my old astra G cabby, smashed the grille and a bit of force on the cable got it open. do you have any idea where your cable has snapped? and yeah, 2000 would be a MK4/astra G RE: Snapped bonnet release cable - Connor - 15-11-2012 Erm... Thread revival, because im bored lol... Well cause im such an awesome mechanic(read theif...) I managed to get the bonnet open about 2minutes before I was gonna do as you said popeye lol turns out it hadn't snapped, just the end worked its way off the lever and touch wood *gigidy* its stayed on since. Well I haven't had any calls saying its stopped working again RE: Snapped bonnet release cable - Niall - 15-11-2012 Probably over use. End of the day, it is a vauxhall so it spends more time with the bonnet open than closed! RE: Snapped bonnet release cable - megwan - 10-12-2012 haha so so so so so true |
