vauxhall 2.2 direct, anyone had dealings with them? - stevieg - 20-08-2012 got a zafira 2.2 direct z22yh auto in the garage and its giving a p1191 'fuel pressure out of range' code. the diagnostic procedure says check low pressure pump pressure (don't have a pressure gauge) and high pressure at the rail with diagnostic tool (diagnostic tool doesn't list the 2.2 direct at all). if you drive it gently not letting the box shift above 3000rpm its fine but if you make it shift above 3 grand it will rev round all the way stuttering a little, after you let off will go into limp mode, set a p1191 with reduced power and will not rev past 3 grand. after a bit of reading it could be the HP pump, pressure regulator or rail pressure sensor but most posts say pressure reg, these posts aren't from mechanics so would like to hear from someone who has had dealings with this engine. its found in the 2003> vectra, 2003> signum and 2005> zafira. it also sounds a bit like its got a misfire at idle inside the car but outside the engine is not shaking at all and sounds ok. vauxhall 2.2 direct, anyone had dealings with them? - dturbopeck - 20-08-2012 If its over 3k it could also be injectors, I wud start with an injector leak off test RE: vauxhall 2.2 direct, anyone had dealings with them? - stevieg - 20-08-2012 its common rail petrol direct injection with the return on the rail like a normal engine. fuel pressure should be around 3.4 bar at idle on the high side |
