RE: project ???? - Toms306 - 18-08-2012

Hmm, well I dunno then, always thought you needed heat to make alcohol, not sure what the cooling would be for.

RE: project ???? - cully - 18-08-2012

RE: project Homebrew Still - Connor - 18-08-2012

Lol think you're getting a tad carried away with this now lol

RE: project Homebrew Still - Toms306 - 18-08-2012

So, in dumbass terms....what does it do? Undecided

RE: project Homebrew Still - cully - 18-08-2012

turns normal alcohol into super strength high proof alcohol

alcohol boils off at around 70c so the alcahol boils off before the water so you need to then cool it then capture the condesed liquid, leaving the water behind in the pot

RE: project Homebrew Still - Toms306 - 18-08-2012

Ahh right, yeah I see. Smile

RE: project Homebrew Still - THE_Liam - 18-08-2012

Basically, it turns an alcoholic drink into a spirit. Vodka, whisky, gin, rum, all distillates. I've been meaning to have a go at making Poitin for a while, got my grandads old recipe and still blueprints...

RE: project Homebrew Still - Connor - 18-08-2012

It turns perfectly usable drinking material into perfectly usable Ethanol that can after all the expense turn you into one of those people you see walking down the road with a white cane that ever so often smacks you with it as they feel their way down the street!

RE: project Homebrew Still - Scott - 19-08-2012

Cully is making moonshine? Sweet

RE: project Homebrew Still - Matt - 19-08-2012

f*cking sweet! taking it to the extremes!

RE: project Homebrew Still - cwspellowe - 19-08-2012

Yasss. Proper aqua vita, the stuff that's been distilled up to 90-odd% abv (not proof..) is hardcore, used to get samples from various distilleries when I was a bar manager and you don't even taste it, it just numbs the taste buds as soon as it hits them!

RE: project Homebrew Still - puglove - 20-08-2012

Is it even legal to do this in england?

True, OR, feed them some of the resulting "liquor" and see them forget their name let alone why they came round!
