Babies Nursery - C.A.R. - 17-08-2012 Ha, this sub-forum doesn't specify that it has to be a project thread about a car! So moved out 3 months ago and baby is due on the 16th of October. Here's a mugshot - ![]() First 2-3 months baby will be sharing our room anyway (in this basket thing we bought) Thought I would post up my progress. I have no DIY experience whatsoever, so this could be interesting. First up is some wall stickers I got from Kiddies-Kingdom. These are really good and they peel off cleanly, so we could take them with us should we decide to move out at the end of our tenancy. ![]() ![]() ![]() Then I got bored, so started putting stickers in random places. ![]() Ha! So yeah the next thing to do was hang some shelves, since we had a load of stuff in boxes which Nat didn't like doing. Never hung shelves before, but got two beech veneered shelves from The Range for £5.99 each inc. brackets haha! ![]() It's even level. (Just don't put a ball on there though, eh) Next I need a cot and some curtains. RE: Babies Nursery - Ed Doe - 17-08-2012 +10 manpoints if you can put a paedo bear up on the door... RE: Babies Nursery - Dum-Dum - 17-08-2012 The stickers make that shelf look well pissed. Good work though. Natalie took that photo, look at the angle of the ceiling, wonder if she was standing on one leg or something?! RE: Babies Nursery - Niall - 17-08-2012 So when's it going to be ready to give a good thrashing? RE: Babies Nursery - Matt - 17-08-2012 Looks good mate ![]() RE: Babies Nursery - cjm_harris - 17-08-2012 (17-08-2012, 11:43 AM)c.a.r. Errr, the shelf tilts the oppsite way to the ceiling line... surely that shelf is well on the piss? ![]() RE: Babies Nursery - Ruan - 17-08-2012 Needs more boost tbh. RE: Babies Nursery - C.A.R. - 20-08-2012 Right this weekend consisted mainly of putting the cot together - ![]() That was expensive, father in law paid for it though. Bedding set you can see on the top there was £50 on its' own. Oh and to prove my shelf is bloody level! ![]() ![]() These are the curtains and matching light shade I put up last week - ![]() And I got into trouble for putting the EDF mascot sticker above the lightswitch haha ![]() RE: Babies Nursery - MrsMidnight - 20-08-2012 I'd laugh if you had a boy... Good work though ![]() RE: Babies Nursery - Matt - 20-08-2012 Edf "zingy" above the switch was a truly epic idea hahaha RE: Babies Nursery - Dicky - 20-08-2012 Goodwork man, our first scan is on the 4th ![]() RE: Babies Nursery - C.A.R. - 20-08-2012 The first scan is scary cos it's all about hunting around for the heartbeat. I couldn't even tell when they showed me on the big screen, the little person is just a baked bean at that point! 20 week scan is the one where you can actually tell it's a baby! RE: Babies Nursery - C.A.R. - 30-08-2012 Couple of additions - Baby changing table. Got this for a steal - £10 off eBay, collected locally. These ridiculously simple bits of furniture sell for between £40 - £100!! This was retailing in Babies'R'Us for £69 Cleaned it up, bought a changing mat (which matches the curtains, bedding and lampshade) for £8 and job's a goodun! ![]() Got a basket thing. This is what you put the baby in when it is too diddy to go in the cot. ![]() Finally got a racing bucket and harness for the car. In race-car red too... ![]() Babies Nursery - THE_Liam - 30-08-2012 (17-08-2012, 03:05 PM)Ruan Wrote: Needs more boost tbh. + gov mod, ground lda, 40mm and clones... Babies Nursery - Jonny b - 30-08-2012 Ha ha I got a recaro seat for my son it was fecking awsome!! Didn't tell her how much it cost though that backfired, she gave it away when he outgrew it lol. They were going for 200 2nd hand RE: Babies Nursery - Mattcheese31 - 30-08-2012 nice work, bet u she spends more than 2 months in your room though, u just have to set up an intercom and then walk the landing in the middle of the night at every noise instead of just rolling over and seeing to her...........just the voice of experience speaking that's all ![]() RE: Babies Nursery - procta - 30-08-2012 getting there car! just need to put a model 306 in there for her. RE: Babies Nursery - C.A.R. - 30-08-2012 Will this do for now? ![]() Just kidding, this is my toy! RE: Babies Nursery - MrsMidnight - 30-08-2012 Moses basket... It's called a moses basket... RE: Babies Nursery - C.A.R. - 18-09-2012 Figured I'm due an update on this one! Natalie had a 'baby shower' on Saturday, which is essentially an excuse for all the women to get together and have a good old cackle. What it also means is stacks of baby-related gifts. Hence, the baby's wardrobe now looks like this - ![]() That's a lot of clothes for someone who isn't even here yet. And then there's the toys and stuff - ![]() Lately I've been collecting Nappies. Not a particularly interesting hobby, but I have now amassed over 400 nappies. Well done me. Apparently babies can use up to 7 nappies a day. So that's like, at least 2 months worth ![]() Anyway, baby could arrive any day now as Natalie has had to have steroid injections to promote the development of baby's lungs. This means that I have been told to collect these two bags if I get 'the call' ![]() Wish me luck ![]() RE: Babies Nursery - Mattcheese31 - 18-09-2012 all the best mate, as you may know i have a son who's 6 and i also have another on the way due in Feb . . . . .it's all good fun and most probably the most amazing feeling you will ever experience, if you need any tips from a full hands on dad give me a shout . . ![]() Babies Nursery - THE_Liam - 18-09-2012 (18-09-2012, 10:45 AM)Mattcheese31 Wrote: all the best mate, as you may know i have a son who's 6 and i also have another on the way due in Feb . . . . .it's all good fun and most probably the most amazing feeling you will ever experience, if you need any tips from a full hands on dad give me a shout . . Properly nervous this last week, Nat has been in and out of Hospital with it and is in loads of pain. Half the time anything you do will be wrong; comfort her and you're making it worse, ignore her and you 'don't care' enough! Can't win!
