lucus pump - Check30 - 14-08-2012 Had look around the old girl today and found out she's got the lucas pump on her these any good to tune and what can I expect to get form her standard? TBH take it off replace with a bosch and throw in bin lol, they arnt too bad but your limited dont think many have ran over 140BHP, Louis123 ran 127bhp on lucas with tuning at USC few weeks back but if you want more power and less smoke go down the bosch route, Lucas are very smokey as the boost compensator has very little effect RE: lucus pump - Check30 - 14-08-2012 Haha fair enough. Is it a lot of work to change the pumps tho? RE: lucus pump - 4WayDiablo - 14-08-2012 Its not so much that Lucas are useless like CJ says, you can still get respectable power out of them its just bosch are better made ans easier and do produce more power generally But kinda agree.. just get a bosch You'll need to change the cambelt (and pump and tensioner whilst your there) lines and injectors too. Might need to modify or get a new bracket too RE: lucus pump - Check30 - 14-08-2012 I'm not looking for massive power but might look into it anyway. Is it just a case of taking the one off and putting the other on or is there more to it RE: lucus pump - 4WayDiablo - 14-08-2012 See my above post. You'll have to change a few things. If your looking at anything more than a simple stage 1 (approx 120-130bhp) then a change to Bosch is the done thing RE: lucus pump - Check30 - 14-08-2012 Sorry dude missed that bit at the bottom of the post lol. I'll get a bosch anyway just in case. How much they going for ruffly? RE: lucus pump - 4WayDiablo - 14-08-2012 I'd expect around 70 with lines and injectors Then a cam belt kit on top and depending how handy you are with a spanner... RE: lucus pump - Check30 - 14-08-2012 That's not bad And I know someone who will do the work free so that's not a problem. RE: lucus pump - Jarrus - 15-08-2012 If you want to sell that lucas when your done with then hit me up..... Only if its working of course... RE: lucus pump - CJ_Derv - 20-08-2012 Shouldnt be too hard to find, lood for certain Citroens too 306's arnt the only cars to have this engine in just make sure they are the correct ones and not N/A ones as the break pressures are different I got a full setup of a Xantia Dturbo RE: lucus pump - londondan86 - 20-08-2012 Just to add to CJ's post, you are looking for the bosch injectprs from a 306, 406, zx, or a xantia. Most of these will be '93-~'98 |
