Too big a Turbo? - Daniel306 - 26-07-2012 Big one is a Gt3776 and the smaller one is a T25 from a 205 turbo RE: Too big a Turbo? - declantg - 26-07-2012 MTFU and run them both RE: Too big a Turbo? - Daniel306 - 26-07-2012 Smaller one is going to be fitted to my dimma turbo, the big one is going on the Td with possibly a Tdo4 beside it, only thing is its twin scroll so making a manifold will be harder, next week il order the stainless and start tacking things together untill it looks right RE: Too big a Turbo? - declantg - 26-07-2012 Sweet! will be well worth it when done, the GT looks like it could swallow a child RE: Too big a Turbo? - 4WayDiablo - 26-07-2012 No such h thing as too big :-P RE: Too big a Turbo? - Daniel306 - 26-07-2012 RE: Too big a Turbo? - Anton - 26-07-2012 Yes it's too big lol RE: Too big a Turbo? - Dave - 26-07-2012 That is too big, you'll need to have some sort of charger/smaller turbo before that... and a T25 wouldnt really be small enough to have that big one on boost before any usable rpm... and if you did, you'de need forged rods to cope with the advance/boost aswell... chronic turbo, and would make for epic amounts of power, just not on an XUD RE: Too big a Turbo? - Ruan - 27-07-2012 The hotside is what'll stop you spooling that GT37, that's designed for like 7l+ engines... GT2876... maybe... RE: Too big a Turbo? - Daniel306 - 27-07-2012 It's for a 7.5 6 cylinder new Holland. I'm sure il find something to fit it to. I was planning to Sc it but it's finding one at the right price. Being twin scroll could I block off the high rpm side and just use the low side. Each port is the same size a td 04. RE: Too big a Turbo? - cpikey316_ - 27-07-2012 Turbo too big??? No, the rest of the engine is too small...... RE: Too big a Turbo? - Ruan - 27-07-2012 You could spool it... But it's not going to without either another smaller stage turbo... Simply down to the fact the assembly will be SO big... Or chronic amounts of nitrous to get things going... I've seen 1.9s spool GT42s, but compounded with GT32s... RE: Too big a Turbo? - Daniel306 - 01-01-2013 So could this turbo work if it run twin? or should i sell it and find something more sensible ? RE: Too big a Turbo? - Ruan - 01-01-2013 Twin turbo, it would work yeah, but I still think the hotside is too big really given the compressor size... A GT32 would be a better option IMHO - but that's me... You're going to need SO much air to blow through the exhaust side to get things moving... RE: Too big a Turbo? - Chris - 01-01-2013 Isn't the guy with the white one running a gr42 90ish that's twin scroll and he says it boosts by 2.5k? RE: Too big a Turbo? - Ruan - 01-01-2013 It's not a GT42... Apparently now it's a Holset HX35... RE: Too big a Turbo? - Chris - 01-01-2013 Hmmm, in that case bolt it on and find out? RE: Too big a Turbo? - Piggy - 01-01-2013 too big to exploit the potential. need mega internals to make it worthwhile. a modern vnt smaller unit be just as good RE: Too big a Turbo? - Daniel306 - 01-01-2013 Anyone know what this is? RE: Too big a Turbo? - parrotveasey81 - 01-01-2013 looks like a turbo to me[/align] RE: Too big a Turbo? - cwspellowe - 01-01-2013 f*cking huge! :o It's strange though, AiResearch turbos normally have the Garrett name stamped in the compressor housing too. And it looks like a T3 style 4-bolt flange. Too big a Turbo? - Jonny b - 01-01-2013 It's an old garret RE: Too big a Turbo? - ginge191 - 01-01-2013 lag-tastic! RE: Too big a Turbo? - cwspellowe - 01-01-2013 Looks like a T3 of some sorts to me, maybe not a super 60 anyway but still mahoosive RE: Too big a Turbo? - Daniel306 - 01-01-2013 airsearch pat no 3058787 A/R48 4TE88 Thats all the number i can find on it, possibly a T28 RE: Too big a Turbo? - cwspellowe - 01-01-2013 Seems to be a bit of confusion between a T28 and T3 internals. The split wastegate points to Nissan motors though, with the wastegate in the downpipe, something like the 200SX RE: Too big a Turbo? - Ruan - 01-01-2013 T04E isn't it? Proper old either way... |
