Just bought a tub and it's awesome, I'm never going back to Swarfega, it ain't a patch on this!

RE: Hand cleaner - Ruan - 24-07-2012

Swarfega is wank...

It's all about the *turn on italian accent* Comma Manista bitches!!!

Also, there's some stuff that Deb makes... Fooking expensive, but the best stuff I've ever used in honesty.... Can't remember what it's called.

RE: Hand cleaner - Rippthrough - 24-07-2012

Swarfega is shocking these days, really bad compared to the original stuff.

However, this is the puppy you want:

Hand cleaner - Jtrigga - 24-07-2012

I just use washing up liquid and sugar job done Smile

RE: Hand cleaner - bigcheez2k3 - 24-07-2012

I've got some stuff that's got to be 10 years old at least, smells like cake but it does the job. Can't remember the name right now.

RE: Hand cleaner - Connor - 25-07-2012

I've got some stuff called krestopol or something like that and its great, its like sand

RE: Hand cleaner - samass - 25-07-2012

Just what I was thinking, many a time I've been fiddling with a motor my hands and face are black as the ace of spades come lunchtime I go to the butty van or kitchen and sit there eating my lunch as if I'm as clean as a whistle I believe in building my immune system up with shitloads of bacteria!

RE: Hand cleaner - Connor - 25-07-2012

Nothing to do with germs, i don't want dermititous(spelling?lol)

RE: Hand cleaner - samass - 25-07-2012

true that! bacteria, ftw. tis only engine oil, road grime, bits of dead fox/rabbit/cat...

all good! Big Grin

never did me no harm anyway

No word of a lie I was on my way to my dad's a few months back and the A158 is a single carriageway but splits towards the end into a dual...there was a bloke that was going really slow but I couldn't get past him and thought right I'll blast past when it splits...as I went to overtake he hit a badger and threw it into my path...while I was doing about 80!

Got out I'd got bits of badger in my grill and everything cleaned the car the next day as it was covered in badger blood and I'm really anal about keeping my exhaust clean (why does that sound wrong!) got the jet wash on it and there's half a badgers head stuck up on top of the exhaust (baked on FTW!) and behind the bumper the girl I was seeing at the time was helping me clean the car and she f*cking shit herself haha!!!

RE: Hand cleaner - Toms306 - 25-07-2012

Lots of car 'fluids' are antibacterial anyway! Oil, antifreeze, brake fluid etc all are afaik.......Im more concerned about the peices of dead rat/pheasant on the tyres/undertray than anything in the bay lol.

I try and use gloves where I can so I dont get caked in crap (the EGR shit always finds a way in though! But I just use washing up liquid afterwards anyway, swarfega and that other stuff costs too much lol.

RE: Hand cleaner - samass - 25-07-2012

Inked, thats grim...

RE: Hand cleaner - ginge191 - 25-07-2012

..i was actually going to make a thread about this! Sugar and washing up liquid at the moment is quite abrasive and hurts my poor soft skinned hands!

i know people dis' swarfega as well, but my mate uses it (ive used it a few times) and it does a pretty awesome job; and its cheap

RE: Hand cleaner - samass - 25-07-2012

man up ginge...

lol

RE: Hand cleaner - Rippthrough - 25-07-2012

Nothing to do with bacteria, you won't get that from car fluids anyway, but if you've ever seen people with bad dermatitus* (my brother and father suffer from it upon contact with oils - although the BH stuff seems to stop it for the occasional bit of work), or ever had go to A&E because you left a metal splinter in filthy hands and by the time you got home they'd swollen to the size of a small child (the tetnus shot is no fun either, never mind them fishing about for the splinter with a scalpel), you start and take care of them a bit more!

*The skin tightens up overnight from drying out so much that every movement of their hands opens big splits right through the skin, stays like that for days, not exactly comfortable for working when you're bleeding everywhere every time you move your hands.

RE: Hand cleaner - Connor - 25-07-2012

Which is exactly why, from day 1 of my apprenticeship I was taught to always wear gloves and to wash my hands if they split

RE: Hand cleaner - bigcheez2k3 - 25-07-2012

Reinol is the one I've got, just seen the name. Smells like Marzipan.

Is that dermititus?? I just assumed it was dry skin........my hands are f*cked like that from washing them too much lol (f*ck you OCD!!). Just cleaning the car or washing up makes them dry tight and cracked again. Undecided

If anyone else has that problem, I don't care how unmanly it is, this stuff is ace....always keep some in the car too. Wink

I agree and baby wipes are also brilliant for just a bit of oil on your hands when out and about or if you've got brake dust all over your mitts after changing a flat tyre - always got a pack in the car.

If you are doing work on your car I really recommend you wear gloves as your skin absorbs chemicals like old oil which can be carcinogenic.

Michelin has some foaming hand cleaner for that which is awesome, I just can't find it for sale anywhere apart from little tins in their footpump kits Angry

RE: Hand cleaner - Jonny81191 - 28-07-2012

Found another one, washing powder and any old handwash or washing up liquid.

Works a treat when there's nothing else to use!
