RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - samass - 30-09-2012 I think if I had a wank right now it'd weigh about 51.15kg.... RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Poodle - 01-10-2012 No, that's another 51kg, already had ~90 out in the last post like this i think. Nope (01-10-2012, 03:56 AM)Poodle Wrote: No, that's another 51kg, already had ~90 out in the last post like this i think. Correct IIRC it was 87kg on the last load i put up so its almost 140kg off in total. (and i forgot to weigh the aircon rad and pipes) I just need time and not insignificant amount of money to make it any lighter. Tempted by a smaller battery to relocate and need to strip down looms then its lightened engine bits, fiberglass pannels and i could probably shed another 10kg with a pair of proper fixed buckets. Might stick her on the weighbridge at some point this week and see what it says. RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Dum-Dum - 09-10-2012 So washed the car today, decided after playing with some black tape (that wouldnt stick very well) that im gonna paint a 1" strip pf the rear window edges to make them look more OEM. Also over the last few days smoothed and painted my bonnet. I cut the backing to the badge off then epoxyed in some bits of ally strip and box section so that I didnt need too much fiberglass. I then filled with fiberglass till just below the level of the bodywork and packed it in front and back so I only need a thin skim of filler Then fillered, sanded, fillered, sanded, fillered, sanded, fillered, sanded and wet and dryed it to shape. Then about 8 coats of primer and it was wet and dryed back and re masked then about 6 or 7 layers of top coat and thats how we stand. The paint match is terrible, the paint i have is ph2 bianca and was a great match on my door handles but its miles out on the bonnet that is lighter and whiter being a ph3 item. This picture dosent show how bad it is. Anyway heres how she stands, need to finish repairing my fiberglass grille and paint it. Oh and note the GTi badges have fallen off the sides cos i didnt like them without the 6s Just need to wait for it to harden and its a week till im next off so then i'll go over it with the rubbing compound and try my best to blend it in. (dosent look too bad from a distance though) RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Curt - 09-10-2012 Surely filling holes goes against your ethos?! Now you're going to have to remove a wheel Looks good, will look so much better with black around the windows. RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Matt - 09-10-2012 Gunna be nose heavy.... Although you can actually see te difference in paint from the whole bonnet compared to the wing. But only of you look hard lol RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - strictly_perv - 09-10-2012 White seems to be a hard colour to match, 205's use different shades of white under the same name which is a pain. Will you be joining me in the 50 shades of white team now? RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Dum-Dum - 09-10-2012 (09-10-2012, 05:47 PM)Curt Wrote: Surely filling holes goes against your ethos?! Now you're going to have to remove a wheelYeah it is a little but buying a new badge when im eventually gonna have a smoothed lightweight fiberglass bonnet when ive got the money to go with the fiberglass grille thats in my garage. So its a temporary measure. Cheers for the compliment though mate. (09-10-2012, 06:02 PM)Matt Wrote: Gunna be nose heavy....Yeah the bonnet is a terrible match cos its ph3 bianca not ph2. and yes nose heavy mate, esp when i get the saxo pump on. RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Dum-Dum - 09-10-2012 Just had a ninja late night delivery of oily bits to play with from The Thorne - Cheers Callum Also shouldn't of gone to Scotts earlier. Spent more money that I dont have on shinys off the car hes breaking mainly to make mine look prettier. My Little Slag Bianca is gonna be looking and sounding incredible for the Christmas meet. RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Curt - 09-10-2012 What've you bought then...? RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Scott - 09-10-2012 Curt on a completely unrelated note I've just noticed that the right hand side image of your car in your sig has been flipped (I'm guessing so the background seems to match more) but now that means the exhaust is on the wrong side! RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Curt - 09-10-2012 Yes you are correct, it's so it works better... You're not supposed to point that out though I should have done it with the picture of the front, but I thought of it after and couldn't be bothered RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - samass - 09-10-2012 Scott you anus.... Going to sound incredible RE: Dum-Dums Bianca GTi6 - Niall - 24-10-2012 TBH i cant see many power gains without getting it mapped. Once again, this will fail and i have no faith in your abilities to make this work. |
