Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Midnightclub - 22-07-2012 Expect most of you have already seen my thread in the couch but thought i'd write up a proper project thread! So, the car itself is a 1992 E36 325i with a 192bhp 2.5 straight 6 under the hood! The car used to belong to my brother with his intent to turbo it and keep it as a sleeper, unfortunetly though he lost his job and this has been sat in his garage the past 2 years.. As you can imagine it's not perfect and needs some TLC but the majority of the bodywork isn't too bad, keeping it looking exactly the same as it is now to add to the 'sleeper' effect.. The plans: * 6- Turbo flange top mount manifold * Unsure exactly what turbo I'll be using yet but something GT30** sized should produce around 500bhp * 13 Row oil cooler with filter relocation kit * Oil feeds for sump drain * 2.5" Intercooler kit (Probably similar to the one i used on the HDi) * Re-circ valve (this over a D/V to add to the sleeper'ness) * Uprated FPR * 38mm External wastegate * Oil catch tank * Stand alone management - Not entirely sure what to use yet, any suggestions appreciated! * 660cc Injectors * Uprated fuel pump There's probably loads of stuff i've missed out but that's just what came from the top of my head, Also been looking at a company called TRM in the 'states.. They do a full turbo kit which will take you from 192bhp ATF to 600bhp ATW and all for $5,200/£3,319 which is a tempting price for a ready made kit including management.. Lots to think about, cheers for looking ! RE: My E36 325i Turbo Project - Andy - 22-07-2012 This is gonna be so full of win and I hope it all comes together as planned. Looking forward to seeing this take shape RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - silverzx - 22-07-2012 Fair enough, wouldn't mind a coupe one of these, not overly keen on the saloons but still a nice car. Bet you paid pennies! RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Midnightclub - 22-07-2012 Cheers Andy, Well put it this way trent, the wheels are worth double what i paid for the car itself.. I'd have prefered a coupé over a 4dr but beggars can't be choosers RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - mark_airey - 23-07-2012 Winner if all goes to plan! get on with it then I need to scratch my BMW itch sometime soon! RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Midnightclub - 23-07-2012 Haha, sell 205, buy BMW,????, profit? Lol RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - mark_airey - 23-07-2012 (23-07-2012, 03:51 PM)Midnightclub Wrote: Haha, sell 205, buy BMW,????, profit? Lol yes that is the plan, but it will be a 2002 or a 1602, non of this modern shite Retro BMW FTW RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Midnightclub - 23-07-2012 The 2002 is a beautiful car... lots a dollar though!I've always had a soft spot for e36's though RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - mark_airey - 23-07-2012 Yeah but come on..................they are oh so much WIN when modified correctly...........Retro is awesome Also lots of WIN in here - http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9742 RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Midnightclub - 24-07-2012 They are indeed very win! If not then an E30 with a turbo'd 6 pot... Mmmmmmmm RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - mark_airey - 24-07-2012 (24-07-2012, 09:25 AM)Midnightclub Wrote: They are indeed very win! If not then an E30 with a turbo'd 6 pot... Mmmmmmmm I really don't care that much for any of the BMW's after the E21 TBH (plus pre '73 cars are tax exempt) I just much prefer the older style cars, and nobody said the engine would stay standard, just not really thought too much into that yet RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Midnightclub - 24-07-2012 Yeah.. tax exempt with mahoosive power is just pure win all over! RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - C.A.R. - 24-07-2012 Should be pretty epic when it's done! If you want sleeper look I'd remove those M3-looking alloys too. Whatever you do as long as it doesn't involve the word 'stance' it will be good. RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Midnightclub - 24-07-2012 M3 Looking? They're genuine M3 alloys, a rarer type as well, rears are 9J wide instead of the usual 8J 'Stance' is pointless with that much power, i'd like to be able to drive it than scrape along the floor everywhere lol Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - THE_Liam - 24-07-2012 (24-07-2012, 09:25 AM)Midnightclub Wrote: They are indeed very win! If not then an E30 with a 3.5 out of an E34 Mmmmmmmm edited for you RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Poodle - 24-07-2012 Sorry Mark, but someone's completely ruined that 2002. RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - mark_airey - 25-07-2012 They are both 1602's If i'm not mistaken I couldn't find the one I was looking for the other day and I still can't So instead, is this more what your thinking................... containing - RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Midnightclub - 25-07-2012 Shhh... it's early mark That one seems to be missing another 2 cylinders... hehe but a turbo that size seems good! Thinking of doing it DIY to an extent.. probably buy TRM's tuning package though Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - THE_Liam - 25-07-2012 I'd love to build an E36 with a V12 from a 750/850... RE: Danny's E36 325i Turbo Project - Midnightclub - 25-07-2012 With two turbos.... Yeah they would sound awesome with a straight through pipe!
