group buy gauging interest - Midnightclub - 19-12-2011

Hi guys, been speaking to Carl at force racing about getting up some cheaper aluminium crankshaft pulleys, can anyone tell me the diameter and width of one ? Some numbers of people interested would be good, price should be around the 75-80 mark, that price should be delivered so still cheaper than the lynx ones and should be very light !

Re: group buy gauging interest - Dum-Dum - 19-12-2011

Lynx are 500g in weight compared to the standard 2300g. Cully might have a spare as I know hes got through a few recently.

Any chance of making a few of these in an XU10 fitment

Re: group buy gauging interest - Midnightclub - 19-12-2011

Can you tell me dum, are they any different? I thought the ones lynx sold are the same as the xu10 and dw10/xud9te ?

Should be around 400g as the 205 gti ones they make are only 360g and they are slightly smaller

Re: group buy gauging interest - mark_airey - 19-12-2011

I will go and find one and get my callipers out before I go in then Tongue

Edit:- can't find one Sad garage is a tip, I will have a tidy up tomorrow night, sorry matey

Re: group buy gauging interest - Midnightclub - 19-12-2011

If not I shall have a good look tomorrow night and do it, what measurements do you want?

Re: group buy gauging interest - Matt - 20-12-2011

Might be interested in one for xsi

Re: group buy gauging interest - Dum-Dum - 20-12-2011

IIRC the XU10 ones are a slightly smaller diameter

Re: group buy gauging interest - cully - 20-12-2011

i might have my original in the garage somewhere
maybe kicked under the bench but its more than likely gone to scrap

took these measurements back when Ruan was going to compare pulleys but he didn't in the end
they will need to be checked dont relie on them

Re: group buy gauging interest - Midnightclub - 20-12-2011

Thanks for that cully, i'll send it off to him as basic not 100% measurements and if someone can double check that'd be great!

AFAIK they are all pretty much the same size and shouldn't make any difference across the ranges, should be okay for xud/dw10 and xsi/gti6 lumps, would i be right in saying they would also fit the 1.8?

Re: group buy gauging interest - cully - 20-12-2011

dont forget there is a keyway in the pulley that is not drawn

Re: group buy gauging interest - sweeney1987 - 20-12-2011

Be interested meself too, will know more when i see prices.

after throwing away a bottom pully last week could of had for measurements Sad

Re: group buy gauging interest - Midnightclub - 20-12-2011

Yeah that's fine cully, i said to him they were only approximate measurements and have shown him a picture of the lynx ones, he has made quite a few different ones so hopefully he'll come back with a decent price

Re: group buy gauging interest - Bananalad - 20-12-2011

What are the advantages of these?

Re: group buy gauging interest - Midnightclub - 20-12-2011

They don't fail like the OEM ones as there completely solid, they also weigh a considerable amount less than the standard ones, making the engine more revvy

Re: group buy gauging interest - Bananalad - 20-12-2011

I may be interested in this, although my genuine pulley is only like a year old lol, depends on price!

Re: group buy gauging interest - Midnightclub - 05-01-2012

Ok, got a reply back from carl at force racing..

AFAIK.. and i am double checking, the price for these in billet would be £79 including VAT but not sure whether that would be posted, checking for that now! Minimum order of 10 units would be required for them to make them

Re: group buy gauging interest - Midnightclub - 05-01-2012

Ok, got the replies.. billet crankshaft pulleys.. £79 delivered to anywhere in the uk
