so what they are legal as long as you make them look as if they have always been that colour? the question in google shows stories of people being taken to court for arguing the case?

Nah from what I read, they can either be white or yellow, but other colours (ie blue) are illegal.
I add on that yellow light is easier for the eye to pick up at night, and I've put brighter bulbs in to make sure I can still see clearly.
Ill say this, I've driven past hundreds of police, and none of them ever even look twice. And I always drive with my lights on, so its not like they just dont see...

tbh, the steels are the bit i like the least, they're too small and too narrow, and also baaadly painted. need banded 15'' ones and a ton more lows.

and yep, ive just been surfing ebay for some banded steels... not much going tho, i want the right shape! and i ned dollahhh hahahayep very good minge, cuz its swinging from a trapeze? it was fine while i was living out the boot of my car... now its empty, its floating a tad... ah well. dry weekend and ill drop it.
