Blown turbo or something else? - pugbug - 01-07-2012 Accelerating from a stand still or hard acceleration there is a ploom of thick blue smoke from the exhaust. I take it this can only mean a blown turbo? On idle there is no smoke, the car still pulls well and the turbo doesn't sound any different. I'm not certain though, this all happened after I've been using 5W40 bottles of oil for over 4 years, but ran out and bought some 10W40. RE: Blown turbo or something else? - Poodle - 02-07-2012 Sounds like turbo oil seals to me, yeah. RE: Blown turbo or something else? - pugbug - 02-07-2012 Yep confirmed blown turbo, going to be a nightmare taking the old one out and getting a new one in RE: Blown turbo or something else? - Poodle - 05-07-2012 Shitty deal. If it was me i'd just pull the engine and do all the serviceables while i was there, may as well. |
