what do you guys reckon, sound f*cked?

this is my car by the way...

RE: Ed might recognise this sound... - Jonny81191 - 29-06-2012

It cant be too bad, that's quieter than ed's.....

RE: Ed might recognise this sound... - Curt - 29-06-2012

They do tap, it's just what they do. But it should quieten down after a couple of minutes, if not give it an oil change and see if it's any better. If they're non hydraulic tappets then it'd be worth adjusting them and making sure they're all good, but on an H I'd imagine they are.

Not as bas as Ed's though at least.

RE: Ed might recognise this sound... - samass - 29-06-2012

yeah i thought they tapped a bit, and it has been sat for a few months, but when i picked it up it wasnt as bad, maybe it'll settle down. we ran it for a good 10-15 mins and it didnt change much.
but yeah, hydro followers.

And while you're there it'd just be rude not to put on a bigger blower

Ed might recognise this sound... - THE_Liam - 04-07-2012

Doesn't sound that bad to be honest, my mk3 Golf wasn't much quieter...

Just get a scrap mk3 and drop the 2.0 8 valve in, cheap and plenty of power in a 'rocco Wink

RE: Ed might recognise this sound... - Curt - 04-07-2012

No need, I still have that 2.0 8v sitting here Sam Wink. I did take a picture but then forgot about it

RE: Ed might recognise this sound... - samass - 05-07-2012

Trololol Ed!!

Hmm curt... Pm me with how much youd be looking for and some more info please? Smile

Ed might recognise this sound... - THE_Liam - 05-07-2012

Do it, easy swap, loads more power and I bet it'll even be better on juice Wink
