But still, its a pretty good piece of kit and does the job nicely! RE: Matts rallye project - Just Sean - 18-11-2012 who wants to earn a couple of quid next year! ?X RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 18-11-2012 Fuuuuu manlove!!! Niall I may take you up on the offer. RE: Matts rallye project - Niall - 18-11-2012 (18-11-2012, 07:09 PM)Matt Wrote: Fuuuuu manlove!!! i havent got time to but your welcome to come and grab it and do it your self. RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 19-11-2012 May do. Well tonight has been eventfull. Basically it died and has gained a new life. Coming back from a tappas restaurant with my friend(she always seems to be in the car when it fucks up haha) got almost back to mine and lost power, wouldn't rev until eventually it stalled. A panicky call to Niall, and checked the engine over and nothing obvious. It would crank but wouldn't fire. Anyway I pushed it off the road and them a copper turned up. Asked what was up. Told him pump wouldn't prime, but it would crank. He tells me to jump start it. *facepalm* anyway he fucks off and I decide to poke the fuel pump. Plug was slightly loose. Connected that and heard a splurge, jumped out the car to find a puddle under it, had a look under and the bloody fuel filter had become disconnected. Ffs connected that up. Fires up first time! Right. Panic over! RE: Matts rallye project - Scott - 19-11-2012 Glad to hear you got home okay mate and that it was something simple RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 19-11-2012 Really glad it was simple. So glad it wasn't engine change time haha RE: Matts rallye project - samass - 19-11-2012 so is it running any better? or is it still like a bag of nails? RE: Matts rallye project - Poodle - 20-11-2012 *facepalm* Classic, you're not having much luck with this mate, glad it was an easy fix. RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 20-11-2012 Dont worry. I face palmed myself. No definatley not running any better. Definatley looks like I might have to take her off the road anyhow RE: Matts rallye project - Ed Doe - 20-11-2012 Lol you tool! How come you're having to take her off the road?! RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 20-11-2012 Don't think I can afford this engine change just yet. Need to stick a clutch in at the same time, plus I want to do hg and Cambelt when fitting the new one. Don't think I can stretch to buy the new engine, Cambelt kit, hg kit and a clutch kit RE: Matts rallye project - Ed Doe - 20-11-2012 Aah dude that sucks Thing is if you get an engine with known history, although you'll want to change the cambelt/hg for ease, you'll keep the car going just putting it straight in. Otherwise you're gonna be skinting yourself, and also running the risk of your existing engine throwing a rod whilst your new engine is in bits with the hg/cambelt being done. Imo you'd be way better off waiting before doing the hg/cambelt anyway, especially if you're having to skimp on quality/new parts to do the job... RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 20-11-2012 Thing is it would be quality parts id be doing it with. That's why I can't afford it. Plus I'm not putting the engine in without doing the Cambelt at least. And that's £100 on top of engine price, and tbh while it's out it definatley needs a new clutch as mines f*cked haha RE: Matts rallye project - Ed Doe - 20-11-2012 Aah, speaking of the clutch; I heard back about my clutch; you now have dibs on it if you still want it? Whatsapp me to discuss xx RE: Matts rallye project - Niall - 20-11-2012 Matt bung the new engine in an in the new year when it warms up we can do the clutch one weekend and HG/belt another. RE: Matts rallye project - Scott - 20-11-2012 The engine is actually complete with gear box and alternator, etc. I think it needs new cv joints though RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 20-11-2012 Cv joints were bust on that engine definatley ripped it apart. It's cool I kinda want to take it off the road. So I can fit all the shinies I have and not worry about if I can't do it in a day. A new engine won't be going in till the new year at least due to lack of funds RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 23-11-2012 Well, that lasted long, blower motor has gone again haha RE: Matts rallye project - samass - 23-11-2012 Gutted. Want me to bring my spare down tomorrow? Only 50 quid RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 23-11-2012 If you could, not sure wether it's a loose connection or a tempormental motor. Either way it's pissing me off. £50? Fack off, settle for a reach around? RE: Matts rallye project - samass - 23-11-2012 Done. RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 23-11-2012 Win! Remember to bring a couple of wheels tomorrow otherwise can't roll it anywhere. Might want to bring a spare bonnet/tarpaulin too haha RE: Matts rallye project - samass - 23-11-2012 Just two? Tarp is easy, wheels are easy. You've seen my garden. |
