MOT failure :-( - dec-66 - 20-06-2012

Hi all,

Just a quick question - I hope someone can help me out.

My car has been in for its MOT today and it failed on these 3 things:

- nearside front suspension arm has excessive play in ball joint [2.4.G.2]

- offside front suspension arm has excessive play in ball joint [2.4.G.2]

- rear break load sensing valve seized [3.6.E.3]

what do these three fail involve doing

cheers

presumably they are the lower ball joints, in which, remove and replace, and the rear load sensor probably just needs COVERING in wd40 or plus gas or something to get it to free up

Nothing too serious.
As samass says WD40 the load sensor and ball joints £10-15 ea. depending where you go. Fitting them, 20 mins a side if your familiar with doing it...

ok cheers where is the rear break load sensing valve located ??

RE: MOT failure :-( - samass - 20-06-2012

on the rear beam, on the drivers side. looks like a plunger with a spring around it with brakes going to it. basically, stick your head under and look for a damper type thing. coat the f*ck out of it lube, and roberts your mothers brother
