'05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - C.A.R. - 13-06-2012 Can't find anything on the web and wondered if anyone could shed any light? Clutch kits seem to be around the £160 mark, but there's no definitive information on labour requirements and work involved in replacing the clutch. Also, I can't work out whether or not it has a DMF or solid flywheel. Any help much appreciated. Cookies will be rewarded. Unfortunately not real ones. Re: '05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - 306carter - 13-06-2012 I would gues then run the same engine ect as the vivaro. I've had 2 from work both with dodgey gearboxes. One was just the clutch but it had dmf so that was replaced at the same time but I was a 60plate with 190k on. The dmf might be on the newer vans. What reg is the one in question? It was my mate that did the clutch think he charged 6 hours labour. Re: '05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - C.A.R. - 13-06-2012 Yea the worry is that it has a DMF, fingers crossed it has a solid unit. Unfortunately the local Renault garage were being fags and had already gone home at 4pm, so I'll ring them in the morning. The Trafic in question is an '05 plate. Re: '05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - C.A.R. - 14-06-2012 Eeeek Renault say it's a whole days work, labour + parts comes out at £1,000 + VAT. Re: '05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - 306carter - 14-06-2012 Is that including dmf? Just go to a clutch specialist. Re: '05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - C.A.R. - 14-06-2012 Apparently it includes some sort of slave cylinder / Hydraulics (was how the bloke referred to it) Going private garage he's found a mate who will do it for £600 ish. Big job, front end either has to come off or the subframe dropped, whichever the garage decides is easier... Re: '05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - Toms306 - 14-06-2012 Can't be a DMF if its that cheap for a days work as well as the clutch and slave cylinder (its good practice to change that with the clutch to save having to take the 'box out again for it btw chris). For the golf, the clutch kit (inc slave) and DMF parts alone came to nearly a grand from the main dealer lol............ Re: '05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - daddyfixit - 14-06-2012 its dmf, subframe gets dropped and its a renault .................pure sh-te. Re: '05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - Grant - 14-06-2012 To have it done on the 53 plate one at work, it involved dropping the engine out, entirely, to gain access to do it. Just a pointer as to why it could be so high... RE: '05 Renault Trafic 1.9 DCi - Clutch replacement - C.A.R. - 15-06-2012 Nice... He's booked it in with a private garage who quoted around £600. Worryingly Renault couldn't even tell me whether the car had a DMF or not. No joke - the bloke said "well it may or it may not have one" F*ck well I knew that much before I phoned! |
