Phase 1 GTI6 - Onyx - ginge191 - 31-03-2026 Bringing back the 306... I wonder if anyone is still here? Especially some of the old boys from the OG days? Anyway, just got myself a phase 1 GTi in need of a lot of love and attention, starting with the heater matrix, which was a pig but is out. Next will be a new starter motor. Get it up and running before getting it MOTd Supposedly about 10 of these left, in this colour in the country. Let's try and keep this on the road! ![]() ![]()
RE: Phase 1 GTI6 - Onyx - darrenjlobb - 31-03-2026 Still lurking..... And nice find....Doesnt look like it would take alot to clean up, how hard have you poked it underneath? haha RE: Phase 1 GTI6 - Onyx - ginge191 - 01-04-2026 (31-03-2026, 06:44 PM)darrenjlobb Wrote: Still lurking..... And nice find....Doesnt look like it would take alot to clean up, how hard have you poked it underneath? haha Previous owner, two years ago, got sills and rear arches welded. Got it MOTd and put about 2k miles on it. It lived in a sheep field so it got some nice sheep-sized rub marks and dents in it, but mostly cosmetic. Rust is mainly around the sun roof, but nothing horrific. Had it up on the farmers ramp, got under and it was all pretty clean - a lot of surface rust on components and arms, but again, nothing that can't be changed or of any significance. |
