need some help - vgr81 - 09-12-2018

hey guys
I am having some problems and need some help.

I have a 1994 306 1.8l
my visual observations are-
transmission leaking but not sure from where.
there is some fluid on what i believe is the ATF cooler (the round thing with 2 tubes out the top) and there is a lot of wetness with a little drip at the bottom of the trans.
Also, I noticed the throttle cable or kickdown cable (not sure what you call it) where it enters the transmission there is a little clip that is broken and the outer art of the cable can be pulled out of the transmission.

driving observations-
reverse gear was not engaging and took a rev to KICK in.
then, last night all my gears seems to be shot. just did nothing.
but in the morning the trans was working again.

any advice?

OK, I'll be that guy; buy a manual! xD

Auto boxes failing to engage usually just means they're low on oil, I'd top that up first and see what happens. If you still have problems then it'll need to go to an auto-trans specialist.

Very little with the auto boxes on this forum as they were never that popular. As poodle says, try topping it up, it adds up seeing as its leaking!

Thanks, I've topped up and still had the prob... actually got worse too.

It seems to have a leak from the cooler and the kickdown cable. I have been told that the solenoids in that model are not removable from the valve body. I guess that means looking for a working used one.
