Jesus, I thought Honda were taking the P*ss - cpikey316_ - 21-01-2018 After service, advised that a bulb was flashing and it cost £200 to replace, with the bulb holder costing about double that. Though "yeah, yeah" to myself, maybe they've flagged me up as some sort of idiot or something Just looked, blimey, they weren't lying!! https://www.parts-honda.uk/honda-cars/CIVIC/2006/18-EX/ELECTRICAL-EQUIPMENTS-EXHAUST-HEATER/HEADLIGHT/17SMG601/B__0800/3/17377 number 8, bulb(145 Euros!) Number 13 Ignite (336 Euros!) Gotta ask, to people who know, is this sort of thing normal on modern cars? Am I going to get stupidly expensive bulbs on any modern car? Generally, in terms of maintenance, i'm not happy with the engineering of the Honda. Tried to replace the wing mirror, had to take the door card off! Its a 2 min job in a 306! RE: Jesus, I thought Honda were taking the P*ss - Midnightclub - 21-01-2018 Says its a D2R bulb, ebay shows them anywhere from 10-30 depending on what brand RE: Jesus, I thought Honda were taking the P*ss - welshpug - 21-01-2018 sounds normal if you're the kind of fool that takes a car to a main dealer for anything but warranty and recall work RE: Jesus, I thought Honda were taking the P*ss - Magenta Sunset - 21-01-2018 was that one of them fancy HID jobbies? RE: Jesus, I thought Honda were taking the P*ss - Eeyore - 21-01-2018 Its a xenon bulb. D2R. Same as the Saab. I did it myself in no time at all and I think I paid maybe £40 in the end. Check amazon. Find me somewhere else that does that for less..... RE: Jesus, I thought Honda were taking the P*ss - welshpug - 21-01-2018 I service my own cars and carry a mobile and have mates with tow ropes and a reliable car. and that has nothing to do with the fact that you went to a dealer for a bulb for an 11 year old car. I can too. I just CBA. Went to the dealer for a service. Not a bulb. The news about the bulb came up as part of the after service. RE: Jesus, I thought Honda were taking the P*ss - Ruan - 22-01-2018 You chose a car with HID Xenon lamps... Yeah, they're not cheap, but that's probably the original lamp to the car in fairness. But yeah, from anywhere else (i.e. not the dealership...) I'd expect it to be about £50 for a D2R. RE: Jesus, I thought Honda were taking the P*ss - JTaylor2005 - 01-02-2018 This is why newer cars are becoming more and more disposable! (Except for the initial outlay cost) Everything is stupidly expensive! Especially those ridiculous "Look at me I'm an Audi driver" Indicators and fancy LED headlights.... |
