Power Steering Pump - TommiePuglet - 25-09-2017
Sooo my power steering has started to make some strange noises and with the car coming off the road to start work on in the next few weeks how hard is it to source and fit a power steering pump? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are companies that recondition power steering pumps but I can't give you any recommendations.

Just looked on Euro and they dont even stock a part for it so I am made to wonder do they do new or re-conned Pumps or am I up a creek without a paddle

Places like Euro / Mr Auto would probably supply a reconditioned item on an exchange basis (providing they're still doing them).
If I needed to get a pump sorted I'd probably look at a power steering specialist. A Google search of "power steering pump reconditioning" will show there are quite a few. Maybe someone on here knows a good company? Not sure of likely costs.
Alternatively you could just get one from a breakers. It would most likely last you a good while. As far as I can tell from Servicebox all the HDi's were fitted with the same pump so there must be loads about.

I can sort you out a decent second hand one if you want? They are pretty easy to change.

Should be loads of used ones from 205 conversions, very rarely give any issues

Frosty ill give you a shout i think the break servo is first on my list just got to get the BMW on the road first so this can come off the road.

Hi Guys am new on here and my power steering is loosing fluid around the front of the car near rad, what do you think has gone, i've had the pump replaced about 60k miles ago.

will be the PAS cooler steel loop pipe rusted through
just bypass it
