Dropping off boost :( help please - Jackabeen93 - 21-05-2012 Alright guys , just been giving car abit of shoe and as I was peaking boost it was dropping off by a few psi and then coming back on . Like acceleration stopped then came back . Probably worth saying I'm running tmic (fmic system had chronic leaks still waiting on welding ![]() I'm thinking heat soak? Re: Dropping off boost :( help please - Poodle - 22-05-2012 Heat soak wouldn't disappear that quickly, pretty sure you wouldn't notice the difference that much either. My first thought would be air getting into the fuel somewhere, chief culprit is usually the filter housing i believe. Re: Dropping off boost :( help please - mark_airey - 22-05-2012 check your fuel filter in the engine bay and in the tank as it sounds like its being starved of fuel, does your boost come back again as soon as you lift your foot off the throttle and put it back down again? Re: Dropping off boost :( help please - Jackabeen93 - 22-05-2012 Yeah it does i get that little fuel filter light on the dash sometimes but I was told its just for a condensation catch tank or something Re: Dropping off boost :( help please - Ruan - 22-05-2012 Change your fuel filter and drain the housing whilst you're at it ![]() Re: Dropping off boost :( help please - mark_airey - 22-05-2012 ^^^ What he said, and maybe clean out the tank strainer while your at it ![]() Re: Dropping off boost :( help please - n0v0s - 22-05-2012 If you've been runing waste veg, i'd put money on the strainer. |
