Power steering fluid - Uberderv - 05-08-2017 Hi all, I checked my power steering fluid today and it is milky, as far as I remember the hdi(2001) doesn't have a power steering cooler, just wondering what could have caused this? It also feels heavy but I'm coming from a 406 which was really light. Is 306 PAS normally heavy? RE: Power steering fluid - welshpug - 05-08-2017 shouldn't be too dissimilar to the 406, pas fluid should be red and oily RE: Power steering fluid - Uberderv - 05-08-2017 Wonder if the previous owner had put water in thinking it was the coolant? It looks like strawberry milkshake lol RE: Power steering fluid - bashbarnard - 05-08-2017 (05-08-2017, 05:07 PM)Uberderv Wrote: Wonder if the previous owner had put water in thinking it was the coolant? It looks like strawberry milkshake lol Ive seen old stuff thats never been changed in 10 years go milky. No idea if it absorbs a bit of water over time or not. just swap it out. Dont buy pas fluid though its twice the price. buy dextron 2 its auto fluid its the same stuff marketed diffrently. Its hilarious about the price diffrence RE: Power steering fluid - Uberderv - 05-08-2017 Dextron 2 eh.... Cheers Bash, so at my local parts B&M shop I ask for Auto box Dextron 2 fluid?
