266mm HDi Calipers on 1.4 - Alan_M - 04-05-2017 My 306 1.4 has the solid discs front calipers and is woeful to be frank. I'd like to put something better on there. Ideally a 247mm vented setup would do but the only calipers I have are off a 205 GTi 1.9 and not sure of they'll fit. I do however have the front setup off my now squished HDi, which has good discs and pads. Seems a no brainer.....It's the master cylinder I'm concerned with. It's got the standard 20.6mm one and with the 266 setup, the pedal may be a bit too long for my liking. Anybody tried this and how was the brake pedal? Other option is to buy a 22mm mc. RE: 266mm HDi Calipers on 1.4 - Eeyore - 04-05-2017 im not aware of anyone doing this. To be honest non-vented front brakes on a 306 are news to me. I would just do it and see how it goes. It extends the pedal travel at worst right? RE: 266mm HDi Calipers on 1.4 - Mattcheese31 - 04-05-2017 my guess is it's on a k plate or something? i've never seen solid discs either, either way, i wouldn't worry about the master cylinder, whack 'em on, be rate RE: 266mm HDi Calipers on 1.4 - Poodle - 04-05-2017 I bet with the extra stopping power on tap you'll barely be able to tell the difference. RE: 266mm HDi Calipers on 1.4 - welshpug - 04-05-2017 1.9 205 stuff will fit fine, its the same 247x20 disc. pedal will just be a little bit longer on the 266mm if they have larger piston, wont be much in it. RE: 266mm HDi Calipers on 1.4 - Frosty - 04-05-2017 I've fitted 266s off a hdi onto my 205 which by the sounds of it would of had similar brakes to your 306 (solid discs, not sure what size they where) and the pedal feels alright. |
