quick shift - Esmyth124 - 03-04-2017

Fitted a quickshift turret and some metal gear linkages over the weekend,

it has made the 1st to 2nd quite notchy?

I have applied grease to the bearing inside the quick shift which has helped,

is there any way to make if feel more smooth?

Are the gear linkages you've fitted adjustable?

RE: quick shift - Eeyore - 03-04-2017

ive googled but i cant find anywhere to say how to adjust them to take slack out etc.

RE: quick shift - Esmyth124 - 03-04-2017

They have nuts and threads on them to show that they are adjustable but I cant see how the are?

RE: quick shift - Eeyore - 03-04-2017

it depends which ones you have. If its all threaded bar then you can only adjust so much before the bar hits the inside of the ends. The later ones from miles should be left and right hand thread so they can be adjusted on the car.

they are the linkages in the above link.

RE: quick shift - Eeyore - 03-04-2017

they look like they will be a few mm adjustable but otherwise the threaded part is literally just to do the nut up against the ends to stop movement.

RE: quick shift - Esmyth124 - 03-04-2017

It isn't the movement is the notchyness (if thats a word) can it be cured?

RE: quick shift - Eeyore - 03-04-2017

Is that only since fitting the linkages?usually its incorrect gearbox fluid that makes the change horrible.

Is it a compbrake quickshift? Like the one in the photo below?

I think they can make the shift a bit notchy if you have it setup fairly short.

Yes it is the compbrake quick shift, i may adjust it to be slightly longer then? and i had a feeling it could be fluid, so genuine Peugeot fluid or is there anything better out there
