Megane clutch bleeding - rocker8742 - 03-01-2017
Anyone had experience bleeding a Megane clutch before? Been trying for ages with no success and looking for ideas now lol

I've got someone to pump the pedal, haven't got anything special just usual tools
I've tried bleeding by letting fluid flow down a pipe and into the open nipple forcing fluid and air up out the reservoir and also pumping the pedal while opening/closing the nipple in the conventional method but still don't seem to be having any luck

They are a pig. 9/10 have to return bleed. Ie push fluid into the slave cylinder...to push all the air up to the res

When you say push it into the slave do you disconnect it from the system and feed into it then connect and feed back in to push any left over air up

Erm.... Not quite. But you'll need some kit. Need to push fluid into the slave bleed nipple
You could do it with long enough piece of hose from the passenger brake caliper bleed nipple

get a one man bleed pipe from halfords, £2.50.
make sure reservoir is full and pump away slowly.
if theres loads of air opening and closing the nipple is a must, as it can sometimes take a whole fpr the master to start pumping and the fluid to flow.
make sure you are opening the nipple far enough too.

Piggy is dead on the money with the brake caliper comment, reverse bleed it using the brakes.

be careful doing that if the brake fluid is old, if it is its time to do a flush through!

Alright so I'll flush the brakes through as I was planning to anyway and then connect the 2 nipples and pump away on the brakes, reservoir cap off I'm guessing?

I've had luck using this method but altered slightly:
Had to bleed an MX5 clutch line which was full of air, it was easier to remove the bleed nipple completely and use my finger over the open port, then open and close with a mate slowly pumping the pedal, you get the fluid through 10* quicker, then swap over and put the nipple back in to finish it off. It can be a little messy though!

Got an easy bleed today, seems to have made it a bit better but still not as it should be. Got a big syringe on slave cylinder and easybleed on the res, been pushing fluid back and forth between the two and it has improved.
Thing is if the bleed nipple at the slave is closed and I hook up the easybleed and connect to the tyre then the clutch is perfect, as soon as I disconnect it just goes back how it was, I've tried a new reservoir cap which improved pressures little bit again
Any ideas why it works when getting pressurised?
