Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - Matt-Rallye - 22-11-2016 Afternoon all, I have an xsara VTS engine complete and ready to drop in my rallye, just wondering if anyone definitively knew the differences between the engines? ![]() So far i have noticed the exhaust manifold is different ![]() I will most likely change this too a gti6 manifold just for peace of mind. Any other differences i should look for before i decide to fit it? I will be fitting it complete with the subframe & suspension thats already on it. RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - welshpug - 22-11-2016 top arm if its from a phase2, injectors sensors etc also. fit the 306 stuff. RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - cully - 22-11-2016 think the xsara engine loom is different ecu has 3 plugs not 1 like the 6 then id geuss that some of the engine sensors will be different similar to the 6 ph1/2/3 looms RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - Matt-Rallye - 22-11-2016 (22-11-2016, 01:00 PM)welshpug Wrote: top arm if its from a phase2, injectors sensors etc also. fit the 306 stuff. Top arm? It is indeed from a late 54 plate xsara. When you say injector sensors does that mean i have to use the 306 injectors or is it a seperate sensor? Is there any truth that xsara engines have more power? any internal difference? RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - cully - 22-11-2016 ecu's are locked to the security control box which controls the Immo system ecu's can be soft unlocked but it may be easyer to buy a perminent written unlocked ecu RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - Matt-Rallye - 22-11-2016 (22-11-2016, 02:13 PM)cully Wrote: ecu's are locked to the security control box which controls the Immo system I see, pretty similar setup to a 106 / saxo then. looks like i better get saving for an ecu etc now ![]() Cheers dude ![]() RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - welshpug - 22-11-2016 yeah, basically get the full loom and ecu from a gti6 including the injectors and main fuelling sensors. RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - Matt-Rallye - 28-02-2017 Thread revival time! So brief run down im going to need to do the following to drop this motor into my red rallye shell: - GTi6 / Rallye engine loom & unlocked ECU - GTi6 / Rallye injectors & all sensors - GTi6 / Rallye exhaust manifold Anything else need changing over? (22-11-2016, 05:09 PM)welshpug Wrote: yeah, basically get the full loom and ecu from a gti6 including the injectors and main fuelling sensors. Just out of interest why can't i use the xsara injectors? In what way are they different to the GTi6 injectors? RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - welshpug - 28-02-2017 different cc/min flow. RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - Matt-Rallye - 01-03-2017 (28-02-2017, 06:30 PM)welshpug Wrote: different cc/min flow. So why wouldn't they be suitable to use in my build? RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - miles - 01-03-2017 They do work but best using 306 injectors, No different in power at all, It's the modern management that makes them run better with twin Lambda's etc RE: Differences between xsara vts & gti6 engines? - welshpug - 01-03-2017 (01-03-2017, 08:52 AM)Matt-Rallye Wrote:(28-02-2017, 06:30 PM)welshpug Wrote: different cc/min flow. because different amount of fuel injected for same pulse width. |
