++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - ginge191 - 16-05-2012 Just a couple of questions. 1 - First up, i'm using matt black a LOT inside the car, panels etc. and not using any laquer, im about to start matt'ing all the plastic on the car, bump strips etc. What laquer should i use? normal laquer as i want to keep the matt look. 2 - been given 20L of RAPESEED oil, is this still ok to use/mix with veg? 3 - Im getting an annoying lag/lack of boost, when accelerating harsh, it feels like i keep hitting a brick wall? I've got an inline filter TO put on AND have the biggest leaking injector - any of these help/be to blame? 4 - I've got a crack in my bumper, what's best to use to repair it? - would this work? http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165625 I've got some more questions as and when i come across them Re: ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - Niall - 16-05-2012 1. You can buy Matt lacquer. Normal will make it shiny 4. Yep that's a good kit. Will need some filler as well for the crack. A better way would be plastic welding if you can find someone to do it for you. Re: ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - Ruan - 16-05-2012 I expect you're draining the pump of fuel, all the timing pulling off and then feeling like you're hitting a brick wall... Let me guess quite a lot of greyish smoke or it goes clean? And yes, rapeseed is fine. Essentially as long as it's oil based and is water free, it can go in the tank... Re: ++Questions. The only reason i didn't want to filler the front of the crack is because i can NEVER for the life of me find a decent SIGMA paint match, it's always too dark, and im not respraying an entire car ![]() Re: ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - Grant - 16-05-2012 Ginge if you put that bumper on the car when you come over, we can plastic weld it then... Re: ++Questions. A better way would be plastic welding if you can find someone to do it for you. Just blend it across that bottom strip. Will look better than a massive crack there. Re: ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - Niall - 16-05-2012 Ginge if your bringing that bumper up, I'll paint it for you whist you and grant do other bits. Won't cost much at all Re: ++Questions. Won't cost much at all ...again, finding sigma paint is a PITA, halfrauds stuff is USELESS and with the sun fade on the rest of the car, would be hard getting a match, thats all im concerned about  Re: ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - 4WayDiablo - 16-05-2012 best bet, i know not cheap is a body shop as they will match the paint on the car ![]() Re: ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - ginge191 - 16-05-2012 yeh i dont really want to bother spending out £££££ on a bumper respray for the sake of a 1cm crack, at the bottom of the car, which isn't too noticable. wouldt only be respraying if i ended up putting filler over it. Re: ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - Niall - 16-05-2012 Ginge it's a metallic paint so you won't notice the paint match if you do that bottom strip. Will look better slightly mismatched than a crack. Re: ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - Ruan - 16-05-2012 Yeah, you're draining the pump of fuel. Careful doing that, remember you're removing the pumps lubrication when it drains of fuel. Re: ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - ginge191 - 16-05-2012 and Niall, for the life of me i can't find a matt lacquer spray  ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - Chris - 16-05-2012 I'd just rivet a plate to the underside bit to hold it all together and leave it at that. Or you could fiberglass sheet the back? ++Questions. Repair/Paint/Veg oil/Laggy - kentiiboii - 16-05-2012 Tbh with you when it comes to the Matt as long as you sand it enough I wouldn't bother lacquering it. As for the sigma match find a car place that will match the paint By eye to the car with little slides. There's a bloke near me that does it and it was my cherry red phase 1 so it was a pain to get a match but his was spot on. Re: ++Questions. Pikey ![]() Getting the right colour paint isnt what ginge is worried about, its the fact it has faded in the sun over its existance. Re: ++Questions. Some places take account for this with their slides. I don't think it will be too bad at all though. Think Ginge should just MTFU! Re: ++Questions.
