weird oil consumption - chopshopMML - 05-07-2016

hello.
i'm new and my english is a bit bad so please be patient.
if there's a thread already talking about the same problem as mine, please delete this one. i did a research but i found nothing.

so here's my issue: oil disappears and i don't nkow where it goes. it's not leaking and it doesen't spit oil from the exhaust. i'm not sure how to diagnose and find what the problem is. i can do a compression test, would that be helpful? please give me any advice.

EDIT: also the oil symbol on the dashboard lights up.

thanks guys!

welcome along Smile

Is that another cabriolet i see there Smile ..

Ok, so

are there any oil spots on the ground where you park the car?

is there any blue smoke out of the exhaust?

how quick does the oil disappear?

what does the under side of your oil filler look like?

what does the under side of the radiator cap look like?

if you can answer those, that would help in diagnosing your problem.

Tony.

Tony.

yes, they forgot to put a roof on my car  Tongue
no oil spots on the ground and no weird smoke from the exhaust.
oil disappears after 2 weeks the last time it happened. the oil filter doesent leak, it's well sealed and the oil doesen't mix with coolant.
i know, it sounds weird... i will have to clean really well the engine on all the sides, check the oil level and eventually add oil and do the compression test. after that i'll see what happens.
unfortunatly time is not on my side since my free time is not much... work and other stuff. but i have to find some free time soon to do the things i sayed, then i'll probably see better what's going on.

Does it have an under tray as the oil may not have been able get past it yet

sorry for this late answer.
there is no under tray or anything else, i checked well.
i still need to check some things and problems that came up, but have no time right now.
it's running well now, but i will keep you update.
thank you all guys.

i need one information about the engine oil dipstick. the rubber handle on my dipstick broke and i need to replace it. i have the spiral one and the only thing i know is that is about 62cm long now without the rubber yellow handle (possible? since it's an used car i can't even be sure that this is actually its original dipstick). my car is a 1.8 petrol 74kw 1761cm3 1994. i can't find where to buy a replace, i checked on ebay and on some sites here in italy but didnt find it and can't be sure if it's the right one. i can't buy it at the wrecking yard because they sell only the whole engine. maybe someone of you who has the same car as me can help me to know what is the right dipstick to buy. thanks.

EDIT: i found this discussion: http://www.aussiefrogs.com/forum/peugeot-forum/104342-broken-8-valve-1-8-litre-306-dipstick.html
