Roof rust - DM123 - 01-05-2016 Seen a clean 306 for sale but the roof is beginning to rust. How much roughly should it cost to get repaired and painted? I dont think it looks too bad but i dont know if it will be a big job or not. Thats the photo of the worse side its the same on the other side of the sun roof RE: Roof rust - Toms306 - 01-05-2016 If its that bad on the outside I dread to think what it's like inside! RE: Roof rust - Mattcheese31 - 01-05-2016 That's pretty fcuked dude, don't buy it to fix, buy to run into the ground. RE: Roof rust - DM123 - 01-05-2016 Any idea roughly how much it would cost to fix? Didnt realise it was that bad, maybe give it a miss RE: Roof rust - Mattcheese31 - 01-05-2016 As said that's from the inside so would say its pretty knackered, roof skins are only thin, I'm not a bodywork guy though so others may know better RE: Roof rust - DM123 - 01-05-2016 Thanks matt, its just that the cars so clean apart from the roof and if it isnt too much i might consider buying it. RE: Roof rust - welshpug - 01-05-2016 that needs a new roof, quite a big job, windscreen out. RE: Roof rust - Toms306 - 01-05-2016 I'd be checking the rear arch, bulkhead and chassis rails as well, I doubt it's as clean as you think without digging further. RE: Roof rust - RetroPug - 01-05-2016 What causes the roof on a 306 to rust out? RE: Roof rust - Toms306 - 01-05-2016 The sunroof... RE: Roof rust - welshpug - 01-05-2016 peugeot doing something very daft 23 years ago. spot welding the sunroof frame to the roof skin. citroen did it the right way, plastic frame bolted to captive inserts at the top of the pillars. blocked sunroof drains dont help. RE: Roof rust - insomaniac45 - 08-05-2016 feck me..... thats bad, you can cut, and weld a new piece in, but that again is alot of work, plus how far has it gone on the inside. bit of a can of worms to me |
