Engine redlines immediately after start - 089 - 23-04-2016 Engine is going immediately to rev limiter when started.. its a dw8 with turbo intake and exhaust manifolds with a bosch pump. Before the swap i heard it running so im sure it was working but it stayed a long time in storage.. could it be a stuck governor or something 4lse? Any ideas? Thanks! RE: Engine redlines immediately after start - Frosty - 23-04-2016 How far in is the max fuel screw? I can't imagine that would cause it to redline but certainly hold the revs up a bit higher is wound in a lot. RE: Engine redlines immediately after start - Mattcheese31 - 23-04-2016 Could be running away, turbo feeding engine with oil RE: Engine redlines immediately after start - 089 - 23-04-2016 Fixed.. all it needed was a good wallop or two on the pump and some throttle linkage play and she's golden.. starts like a champ, no smoke whatsoever and whistles like a turbo derv should thanks again guys!! RE: Engine redlines immediately after start - Dave - 27-04-2016 Sounds like the govnor weights were sticking. |
