Laser Torque Angle Gauge - Toms306 - 20-04-2016 Morning, Has anyone successfully used one of these or are they all crap? I don't usually have problems with Laser products! Cheers Tom RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - welshpug - 20-04-2016 a what? RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - cully - 20-04-2016 ummmmm free if you print it off http://306oc.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=17479&pid=355574#pid355574 RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - welshpug - 20-04-2016 oh, an angle tightening gauge. had one in my toolbox for about 13 years. RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - Toms306 - 20-04-2016 I just don't see how you'd guess 240 degrees without lol. But anyway, these Laser ones seem too stiff and juddery to be at all accurate. We ended up loosening the bolts again and essentially using Cully's method. Just want to know if it's a bad batch or if they're all this bad? RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - Piggy - 20-04-2016 They are quite "stiff" I have used mine...maybe once. Again had it for maybe 10years RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - Toms306 - 20-04-2016 Do you guys just guess headbolts then? I thought it was fairly crucial to get those right. Just work in 90s...pretty simple tbh RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - Toms306 - 20-04-2016 Maths isn't my strong point lol, but I can't get 240 out of 90s or 45s. RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - ConorTRG - 20-04-2016 They shouldn't be that stiff, I find it best to do it all in one go, non starting and stopping to move the bar etc. Mine arent laser though. RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - Toms306 - 20-04-2016 No I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be that stiff, it sticks and then jumps like 30 degrees at once which obviously isn't accurate lol. I'll return it if possible anyway. We bought another at a different shop and it was exactly the same! RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - welshpug - 20-04-2016 I'd lube it up, also getting a mate to hold it and cou8nt the bolts down as you go makes it much quicker. RE: Laser Torque Angle Gauge - Dum-Dum - 20-04-2016 Never used one, always worked on the principal that a couple of degrees out wouldn't hurt. If it got complicated I got a protractor out (yes I stio own one) (20-04-2016, 11:22 AM)Toms306 Wrote: Maths isn't my strong point lol, but I can't get 240 out of 90s or 45s. 180 plus a 45 and then half of a 45 and you'd be just over. Yeah it's stiff but easy enough to work with |
