Timing Belt with water pump kit - mackat - 18-04-2016 Does anyone have the product code or link for a Timing Belt with water pump kit for a phase 3 gti6 (1999)? Dayco, Contitech or Gates would be great. Getting very confused about whether its 137 or 136 tooth and manual tensioner or spring Thanks RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - welshpug - 18-04-2016 take the cover off and look. RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - cully - 19-04-2016 spring tensioner =137 manual tensioner =136 part no and drawing at the bottom of the post http://306oc.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=32654&pid=567947#pid567947 RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - Piggy - 19-04-2016 (19-04-2016, 07:22 AM)cully Wrote: spring tensioner =137 Good info that RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - mackat - 19-04-2016 Thanks Cully As the tensioner comes with the kit, I shouldn't worry if I get a 137 or 136 belt? RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - cully - 19-04-2016 you need to get the correct kit as the fixing post for the auto/manual tensioner is different RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - mackat - 19-04-2016 (19-04-2016, 10:22 AM)cully Wrote: you need to get the correct kit as the fixing post for the auto/manual tensioner is different Understood! As welshpug said, time to take the cover off and have a look. RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - welshpug - 19-04-2016 you can retrofit the post for the earlier (more reliable and preffered ) tensioner. RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - mackat - 19-04-2016 Cool thanks - not me that's doing it. Not something I feel comfortable doing, will ask the mechanic who is though RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - miles - 20-04-2016 Nothing wrong with the later ones at all, I'd go OE if possible as with Trade club they are Dirt cheap RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - mackat - 21-04-2016 (20-04-2016, 10:00 PM)miles Wrote: Nothing wrong with the later ones at all, I'd go OE if possible as with Trade club they are Dirt cheap Picked up a Gates 136 kit with separate water pump. Will pop the cover over the weekend just to be sure. Tas is working on the car next Friday and I'm booked in for a mapping session with atspeed on the 4th.. Coming along slowly RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - miles - 22-04-2016 Water pump wise is one of those things, Currently Motaquip are OE as i have never liked most pattern pumps, What do you think of Tas' car RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - welshpug - 23-04-2016 water pump on trade is not bad, belts are cheaper than aftermarket RE: Timing Belt with water pump kit - mackat - 24-04-2016 (22-04-2016, 10:39 PM)miles Wrote: Water pump wise is one of those things, Currently Motaquip are OE as i have never liked most pattern pumps, What do you think of Tas' car Never got to hear it start, but damn it's nice!
