Rockers '6 - rocker8742 - 02-04-2016 Evening lads, expect a few of you will remember my old Gti 6 Well as of last night I am now back in a 306, this one as it happens Yes that is the same car lol albeit with some painted wheels, black masks and a lot of dirt. Will put in some effort to get her gleaming again and then it's gonna be a nice long term project to make it exactly as I want it to be Will get some pictures after a. wash and wax tomorrow Update This is what has happened since she's been away and I'm gonna keep adding to the list of what I'm working towards Rebuilt beam with (supposedly) bigger ARB Solid rear beam mounts Koni FSD shocks front and rear with -35mm springs New cat (which has just fallen apart) Cat back Scorpion exhaust Head gasket Aircon delete [emoji35] New airbag module Black masks New spoiler Things that annoy me: Cat fell apart Someone removed the alarm deactivate button [emoji35] The blue centre console and engine bay bits got sprayed grey The centre console rattles like a bastard The heaters are stuck on full heat all the time Brake compensator rod has been removed -why?! ABS sensor has packed up Boot and drivers door haven't been re fitted properly Future plans: Adjust boot / drivers door fitment Tar remover / clay bar / wax Soundproofing floor, boot, doors, roof Reclining bucket seats Drivers door loom repair Central locking upgrade Steering wheel upgrade / retrim Wheel change Ph3 bonnet Ph3 front bumper Re fit aircon system Re spray centre console Tart engine bay up Upper strut brace Paint repair on rear arch RE: Back in black - Paul_13 - 02-04-2016 Looks good RE: Back in black - Xsikid - 02-04-2016 Looks good already bud Back in black - Frosty - 03-04-2016 Getton Tom. I did wonder what you were getting to replace the bmw. Did you buy it off the same guy you sold it to? Back in black - rocker8742 - 03-04-2016 Yeah I did frosty, been in the pipeline for a few months now just been getting everything together Feels good to be back had an awesome day using the fuel up yesterday lol Back in black - rocker8742 - 05-04-2016 Few pics after a polish at the weekend, needed a tar remover and clay bar but I didn't have time to do it thoroughly. Didn't help that the rain came in part way through too so not many decent pics Before After RE: Back in black - Frosty - 06-04-2016 Looks like it come up pretty well. Certainly looked like it needed it. Looks better with the black masks IMO. We will have to have a catch up soon. RE: Back in black - Eeyore - 06-04-2016 yesssss another one back in the game! RE: Back in black - Toms306 - 06-04-2016 That before picture is why not to use car washes lol... Needs some tyre black but it's looking good now! Thats country hedge driving Tom. all the cars round here look like that even the new ones RE: Back in black - Toms306 - 06-04-2016 The thick lines are hedge scuffs (I'm always catching hedges myself ), the thin ones are caused by grit when washing. RE: Back in black - mr_fish - 06-04-2016 there it is. Hope to see this around a bit more now. Back in black - rocker8742 - 07-04-2016 It does look much better now still more shine to get out of it when the sun comes out properly Black masks are growing on me and I think will be staying although not big on the black wheels, got a couple spare sets in the shed so will see what looks best Lovely to have a car that handles again and will be out and about in it a lot, definitely need a catchup [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Back in black - Matt - 10-04-2016 Good to see you back! And looks like it cleaned up well RE: Back in black - ozonehostile - 10-04-2016 Bet you're well chuffed to have got it back, most people always talk about the one that got away when they talk about a gti6 they once had Back in black - rocker8742 - 11-04-2016 I am mate, it's weird buying back a car that I've already owned but well worth it. It won't be going anywhere any time soon either lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Back in black - rocker8742 - 19-04-2016 First post updated with some plans and other changes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Back in black - Eeyore - 20-04-2016 Some good plans. Weird how someone has broken it so much after a year and certainly some bizarre things there... RE: Back in black - silverzx - 20-04-2016 Looks sweet polished up! Tell me about it mate, spent a lot of money underneath but seems to have randomly left out or broken other things. Also needs new 306oc stickers as he was a PEG member and took them off [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Back in black - Matt - 20-04-2016 Why would someone remove the rod from the brake system? That's just odd Back in black - rocker8742 - 20-04-2016 It is a little weird, definitely not there though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Back in black - Toms306 - 21-04-2016 It was probably seized for MOT... 'Can't fail it if it ain't there mayte' Back in black - rocker8742 - 21-04-2016 Lol could well be right Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Back in black - Eeyore - 21-04-2016 (20-04-2016, 07:22 PM)rocker8742 Wrote:(20-04-2016, 08:22 AM)Eeyore Wrote: Some good plans. RE: Back in black - Piggy - 21-04-2016 That compensator not being right...could explain it dragging its butt Back in black - rocker8742 - 23-04-2016 New compensator is the starting point I think. Dropped a load of water on me last night while driving. Was a bit surprised but could see it coming thorough the interior light so this morning stripped it out and cleaned up all the corrosion and re sealed the roof. Hopefully all good now Needs a clean again badly, forgot how bad owning a black car is lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Back in black - cully - 23-04-2016 (21-04-2016, 07:19 AM)Toms306 Wrote: It was probably seized for MOT... 'Can't fail it if it ain't there mayte' no but by removing the rod make a defective system = mot Fail! if there is no spring load on the compensator the breaking force is reduced to the rear so effectively the brake effort is front biased Back in black - rocker8742 - 05-05-2016 New compensator on its way along with a couple of other little things Got some new wax to try out this weekend as long as the weather holds Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Back in black - rocker8742 - 06-05-2016 New wax is here [emoji106]? try it at the weekend hopefully Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
